Swat and the Singing Monk Lake
Swat probably was our next destination for road trip. Swat was once declared to be Switzerland of Pakistan, has long been ignored by the tourists and has not got what it deserved because of so many local issues but now that everything is kind of getting back on track, a lot of tourists are visiting back the valley. Our plan of a road trip to Swat is kind of in a danger now or could face a delay after two of our trip members have suddenly planned to move abroad. Swat is a district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.
Above is a lake known as "Singing Monk" lake which is beautiful in its own way. The half-a-kilometre-wide and one-kilometre- long Lake is present in the chain of Hindu Kush Mountains. Throughout the year, It is surrounded by thick glaciers. Furthermore, it lies at about 11,500 feet above sea level which makes it a very cold place most of the year.

The 3 day Swat Snow festival is organised by the State and local government which features a lot of snow related activities including skating, tobagganing, tubing, paragliding and skiing attracting a huge number of tourists locally as well as internationally.

Above picture is of the famous town that is known as Bahrain, being at an elevation of 4700 ft and the presence of Swat river around makes it a perfect natural scenery.
That's it for now, I hope we can still plan a road trip soon to this beautiful part of the the world and post more about it....

Studies are going good, had two super busy day at university...5 off days now but a lot of work to be done before the next Saturday. How about you? All good? How about the dog making you walk outside the home :D
