La Isla del burro se localiza en el embalse de García Sola, también conocido como Puerto Peña, en el termino municipal de Talarrubias, Badajoz (España). El embalse fue contruido en el año 1962 sobre el rio Guadiana. Su principal objetivo es almacenar agua para abastecer posteriormente las zonas de regadío de la comarca.
El embalse de García Sola nos hace disfrutar de hermosos paisajes como el que les muestro en la fotografía. Un lugar encantador para disfrutar del tiempo libre. Aquí se realizan muchas actividades relacionadas con la naturaleza, siendo su punto fuerte el avistamiento de aves que hoy en día se encuentran en peligro de extinción como la cigueña negra.
