MAKES MY DAY

I love it when telemarketers call. Can hardly wait for the phone to ring.

But it wasn't always like that. I used to get so angry at being disturbed by these calls. What right do they have to intrude on me like this? And I would become enraged. Sometimes I would answer the phone and curse at them. But then I realized they get that all the time. People must swear at them with expletives all the time. They probably are so used to that they find it amusing when someone goes off on them.

So I went online to research what other people have done about this. There is no way to stop it. Even the 800 no call list does not block them. Many of them are scammers and not even legitimate advertising calls. Call blocking doesn't work because scammers use all sorts of tricky programs to get past call blocking and their calls cannot be traced. It's a real nightmare in some ways. And it used make me very, very angry since there was no way to deal with it except being victimized.

Scammers slip under the radar. Use old phone numbers that are no longer in service, etc.

Until I found a small device ($9) that will play an 8-second recording and then hang up.

Technologically it is a dinosaur from the 1990s. But I love the thing. My recording is 8 seconds of the Hare Krishna mantra. I answer the phone and when I hear a live person on the other end who is doing a telemarketing call I hit the play button.

The transcendental vibration established by the chanting of Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare is the sublime method for reviving our transcendental consciousness.

It's so much fun. I wish the phone would ring all day long.

It's also fun to record the entire call and put it on YouTube for the lulz
