GREAT TO HAVE FRIENDS OVER FOR THE EVENING

Wish I had seen this before trying to make jalebis for guests last night. One comment from my friend's young son, they speak very openly, "They are so hard they hurt my teeth." Yikes. I really want to get my cooking skills together.

Everything else was fine (make believe martinis were a hit (non-alcoholic crowd)

with homemade caraway seed crackers and guacamole,

and
rice with spinach and peanuts, cauliflower and potato subji (cooked veggie mix),

The pineapple chutney was a little too sweet but still very tasty.

and a friend made samhosas and tamarind chutney.

I was so happy to see her since she has been a little miffed at me for the last few months. I made what she considered a bad choice of friends and distanced herself letting me know what a mistake I was making. She was right. Anyway, she has gotten over it and I have let the other friend go. Wishing them well of course.

We read together from Mahabharata, about King Yayati and Devayani,

and chanted Hare Krishna. The chanting was very animated and a lot of fun. Loud and good for dancing.

Jalebis is my favourite Indian food. I like it, thanks mam for sharing it.
