Korea 'Sotdae' refers to a long pole for the purpose of civilian faith or in the sense of celebration when there is an incline.

It is said that it originated from Sodo (蘇 涂), a place where gods were held in the time of Samhan (三 韓).

According to the region, it is called "Suzhou", "Sogol", "Sogae" in Hamheung, "Sotdae" in Hwanghae and Pyeongando, "Sword" in Gangwon Province, and "Gimdae" in Gyeongsangbuk-do.
