This drama is of course 'The K2' released in 2016, with 16 episodes.

Synopsis:
- Kim Je-ha (Ji Chang-Wook) is a former mercenary soldier for the PMC Blackstone. While in Iraq, he gets framed for the murder of his lover Raniya, a civilian. As a result, he runs away and becomes a fugitive. He returns to South Korea and by chance, gets offered to work as a bodyguard by Choi Yoo-jin (Song Yoon-Ah), the owner of JSS Security Company and wife of the presidential candidate, Jang Se-joon (Jo Sung-Ha). He accepts the job in exchange for resources that he needs in order to get his revenge on another presidential candidate, Park Kwan-soo (Kim Kap-Soo), who previously ordered the killing of his lover. In the meantime, Je-ha gets assigned to guard Go An-na (Im Yoon-Ah), the hidden daughter of Jang Se-joon, whose life is always threatened because of Yoo-jin, her stepmother. An-na, who has been reclused and lonely all her life, starts relying on Je-ha, who shows concern for her and protects her at all costs. They slowly fall in love with each other, which makes Je-ha torn between having to work with his ally, Yoo-jin, in order to get his revenge and protecting his new-found love, An-na, against his own ally.
Cast:
Ji Chang Wook (지창욱) acted in the 2017 films Fabricated City and dramas Empress Ki (2013-2014) alongside Ha Ji Won and drama Healer (2014-2015) alongside Park Min Young and Yoo Ji Tae. After acted in The K2 he also accepted a lead role in Suspicious Partner (2017) alongside Nam Ji Hyun, Choi Tae Joon and Kwon Na Ra.
Im Yoon Ah (임윤아) is an idol member from the worldwide famous girl group Girls' Generation. She is also a successful actress. She landed a lead role in You Are My Destiny (2008) alongside Park Jae Jung. Like her co-star Ji Chang Wook, after acted in The K2, she moved on the act in the drama The King In Love (2017) alongside Im Si Wan from the idol group ZE:A the consist of the successful idol-actor Park Hyung Sik and also actor Hong Jong Hyun who acted in my 2nd favorite drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. She also acted in the drama television series God of War: Zhao Yun, alongside chinese actor Lin Gengxin and another korean actor Kim Jeong Hoon.
Song Yoon Ah (송윤아) is a veteran actress with 23 years of acting experience under her belt. She acted in quite a lot of dramas such as Mama (2014) who shows shows how far and how much a mother is willing to go and sacrifice for her children.
Jo Sung Ha (조성하) is also a veteran actor with 22 years of acting experience under his belt. He acted in the famous drama Iris 2: New Generation, season 2 of the drama Iris which consist of famous actor like Lee Byung Hoon and Kim Tae Hee.
Kim Kap Soo (김갑수) is the most veteran actor in this casting with 41 years of acting experience under his belt. 41 YEARS!!!! He has too many good dramas in his filmography and this is also one of the reason why The K2 is such an awesome drama.
The actors and actress in this drama did such a good job that this drama has also won 5 awards in the year 2016.
The drama received good reviews, topping cable channel viewership ratings throughout its 8-week broadcast.
