Every month people can apply for being a curator. Many do. I have team True Colours and only do it this month and tgis time it's steemcurator08, I started with than one in September 2024 but also had steemcurator04 and 05 I believe.
I undeestand you feel demotivated and with you there are many more. I am not sure if this can be changed but I'll give it a try.
Unfortunately, it looks as if Europe is not liked, same for Western countries, and Asian ones.
If you look at @steemitblog you can see who the curators are in the announcement post. Compare them with the other posts and you might find the reason why.
