Infotrak head Angela Ambitho releasing the latest opinion poll results in Nairobi on July 23, 2017

With 15 days to the Kenyan general election, the presidential race is officially a two horse race with two leading pollsters Infotrak and IPSOS predicting that no candidate will clinch victory in the first round. The Ipsos survey was conducted between July 2 and July 12 while Infotrak polled from July 16 to July 22. IPSOS shows that the incumbent, President Kenyatta has 47% while the opposition leader, Raila Odinga has 43%. In the infotrak poll, Raila is leading Uhuru 48% to 47%. The undecided who are at 5% will be the determinant in this close election. Kenyans especially young Kenyans have a lot of things to be disgruntled about from the current administration. Food prices has gone up, youth unemployment is still too high and the government seems to be unable or unwilling to curb corruption . The president in a facebook live chat has promised young Kenyans that his administration will create 6.5 million new jobs within the next five years. His previous manifesto has some unfulfilled promises and Kenyans will take this new promise with a grain of salt.
