So I have been using the JSECOIN miner for a week now (not constantly, just a few hours a day). So I thought I would do a bit of a summary/review type thing on my experience.
What is JSECOIN you ask?
To put it simply, it is a cryptocurrency that you mine in you browser, it uses up to 10% of your cpu, you can adjust the value. You can do this through their website, or monetise your own by adding the code to your website.
First thing, when I signed up, my ISP blocked the email confirmation link, it said the website was a Virus. I'm guessing because it has the ability to mine your CPU, so they probably received some complaints. So anyway I had to disable it so I could continue. But after that the website worked fine, even after I re-enabled it.
If you are wondering, where the hell did I hear the name of this. Well you have probably seen Steem memo spam advertising it at some point. Haha, that is how I heard of it.
How much did I earn?
The start with, the mining acts like a lottery, once per 30 seconds it picks 50 accounts who had a completed a valid hash that round and gives them 1 JSE token. One entry per account per round. This works out to a total of 144,000 JSE per day is handed out.
I found myself received about 3-4 JSE per hour, so in roughly 16 hours I had earned 57 tokens. I had a total of 3937 hashes found, so that is roughly 1 token per 69 hashes found.
Currently they are not listed on any exchange, they are doing an ICO right now for roughly 0.35 cents per token. So just going by that I have earned 20 cents in a week. Is it worth it? Probably not. 😂 I'm guessing the cost of using cpu at 10% for 16 hours is about half of that. Then the time and effort a lot more.
But anyway, here is a little insight to my experience, and if you want to check it out feel free to use the links below. Also if you have been using this, please leave a comment with your experience, how much did you earn, are you getting the same results as me? Are you taking part in the ICO?
