If Josef Albers would knit... a new sweater - neumannsalva's instagram Feed : 2018/12/01 11:30:31
This is art ... but it’s not #josefalbers nor is it a painting or a duck 😂 It is the yoke of my new color block sweater. A top down construction in a mix of garter stitch and stockinette. I call this ‚painting with yarn‘.
I am knitting the whole sweater in the round, starting with a raglan construction. This means I will increase every second row 8 stitches at the 'corners' of the yoke. These 'corners' will later form the sleeves, front and back of the sweater. I work with a yarn held double to get a thick and bulky appearance. And besides this I can work very gradual color changes by using two different shades of yarn....
I will knit the body in stockinette to get an extra style element. Cross your fingers that this will work out.

I really like that colour, @neumannsalva and look forward to seeing how it progresses... I've also been meaning to make a top down sweater or cardigan. I thought I had the yarn sorted and then the weather changed so it needs to be thicker now ... :D

And I still love your cardigan idea. Top down is always good (in my opinion) and I like the slight A-line of the cardigan. Do you already have chosen which yarn you will use?
This is a project that I hope you update us on. The construction is so intriguing! I read how you used two colors to give more interest. So smart! Honestly, can’t wait to see how this turns out. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you’re stockinette section works out as you plan!
I am a big fan of top down constructions as the raglan form fits good (for me) But I also know some knitters who especially dislike the shoulder fit of raglan sweaters...
And I need your charm (I mean the crossed fingers) as I am no longer sure the grey yarn I use for the stockinette is a good choice 😱😱😱
Yeah, I have broad shoulders, so I don't usually wear raglans or yoked sweaters, but I love them anyway.

Just coming over here from nTopaz, an artsite working on the steem blockchain. Since they completely redesigned everything, a lot is in Korean, despite the language setting. But when I read your text, I don't think I unserstand any more of that either 🤔... picture looks nice though!
Oh, that is interesting (the nTopaz thingy) A friend of mine is very interested in everything from China and Korea and loves to make ink sketches. Perhaps I must direct her to this site?
And with the knitting lingo 😅😅😅 I admit it is a bit of cryptic (you must enter the cult - then all will be illuminated 😅)
Perhaps my latest post is a bit better to understand as I wrote more about Bauhaus than knitting 😄
So much going on right now and so much to learn... I'm not sure I want to add another "language". I'll just ask my mother to do the knitting for me ;-)
As for nTopaz... its not only if you are interested in Asian or more specifically Korean culture. Its an artist blogging site running on the steem blockchain.. for all artists!

No big deal so far... since they changed to the new interface, its a bit "buggy", but it seems they are making an extended effort to get it to run smooth again.
