All the trout froze, but you can still go ice fishing on Turquoise Lake
I went skiing around Turquoise Lake the other day, and there were quite a few people out ice fishing.
I'm sure they were hauling all kinds of great ice out of that lake. I mean, just look at all that ice. It's everywhere. And it's so thick you can drive snowmobiles right out onto the lake. You can even set up a little shelter to stay warm while you fish for ice.
Here are a couple more shots:
Leadville.com notes that during summer you can fish for rainbow, brown, cutthroat, and brook trout at Turquoise Lake. I assume the reason they fish for ice during winter is because all the trout freeze.
