What will be Jio's impact?

An aggressive FTTH service launch by Jio can cause two sets of disruptions, according to Rohan Dhamija, partner & head for India, South Asia & Middle East at Analysys Mason. First, it can immediately disrupt home broadband pricing, forcing rivals such as Airtel to slash rates. Second, it could also have a secondary impact on the larger mobile services market, if Jiochooses to bundle generous wired broadband packs with its current 4G plans. market expect that the price of this service will be cheaper then other rivals .

What is FTTH?

FTTH, as the name suggests, means installing the fiber cable right up to the individual building. At present, the fiber cable reaches only till the main premises while the last connections to individual homes/offices are through traditional copper cable.

Jio Phone 2 mobile is launched today . The phone comes with a 2.40-inch display with a resolution of 240 pixels by 320 pixels.

It comes with 512MB of RAM. The phone packs 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a SD card card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Jio Phone 2 packs a 2-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 0.3-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

The Jio Phone 2 runs KAI OS and is powered by a 2000mAh.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC and FM.
price of the jio phone is about 2999 rs which is affordable .

Addressing RIL shareholders, CMD Mukesh Ambani said JioPhone Monsoon Hungama will start from July 21, where the existing customers can replace their old Jio phones with the new one for Rs 501.

The registration for Jio GigaFiber broadband too will begin from August 15 either via MyJio or Jio.com. The company will roll out the service in those localities with highest interest.
