Jesus said: For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world, John 6:33

Jesus explains to us in the Gospel of John that he is the spiritual manna that comes down from heaven, Jesus personifies the spiritual bread that brings the true spiritual life to men (eternal life):
"So they asked him, ´What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ´He gave them bread from heaven to eat.´
Jesus said to them, ´Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world´
´Sir ´, they said, ´always give us this bread.´
Then Jesus declared, ´I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." John 6:30-35.
Moses gave bread lowered from heaven to the chosen people, but Jesus represents another bread that comes from on high. Just as there is a physical bread there is also a spiritual bread. The wisdom from above is metaphorically compared to the bread that comes down from heaven: "The wisdom that is from above, is first pure; and then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere." James 3:17

Thomas Aquinas defines the word of God as knowledge with love and wisdom engendered by the gift of advice (listen, meditate with intuition and inspiration, decide). The word of God is the wisdom from above, the spiritual manna that feeds the spirit of man, the word is eternal and uncreated:
"In the beginning was he Word
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made;
without him nothing was made that has been made.
In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. John 1:1-3
Jesus is the "son of man", Jesus personifies the bread of God, Jesus personifies the perfections of God.
