"Sound by Roscoe Mitchell Sextet" (1966)
"Sound" (released in 1966) is the debut album by the American saxophonist, Roscoe Mitchell. The work included the participation of a quintet made up of: Lester Bowie on trumpet, flugelhorn, and harmonica, Malachi Favors on bass, Maurice McIntyre on tenor saxophone, Lester Lashley on trombone, cello, and Alvin Fielder on percussion. Musically, "Sound" is a piece of free jazz, tinged by the free sounds and improvisation of its participating musicians who, during the evolution of music, paint melodic and rhythmic landscapes with different languages .... =)
