Christmas shopping for kids in TOKYO ! クリスマスショッピング　おもちゃ！

２年前までカリフォルニアに住んでいた私たち、
私はなるべく早めにプレゼントを用意しなければと思いつつギリギリになる派。
主人はいっつもギリギリ前日（ありえない・・）とかに買いに行く派。

We lived in California until two years ago. I'm the type of person who wants to buy Christmas presents early, but I often don't. My husband however always buys his presents at the last minute.
東京で車もない現在、ネットと実店舗とをチェックし早めに買わないと！と焦るここ数日。

Now we are in Tokyo and since we don't have a car yet I have to search online for presents. I'd rather go to the store to look at them though.

海外生活が長いと、皆が普通に知っているような、「あそこにあれが売っている！」というのが 意外とわからなくなってたりします。
おもちゃもトイザらスあたりいいけば良いのだろうけども近所になくて。
ネットではなく実際に見たいものもあるわけで。

我が家のちびっこが欲しがっているメルちゃんグッズを買うために
赤ちゃん用品が売っている「赤ちゃん本舗」へ。

しかし、おもちゃ系は品数少なく　メルちゃんの本体は販売しているものの
娘が欲しいグッズはなく・・

店員さんに伺ったところ、ビッグカメラにもおもちゃコーナーがあるとな！

早速行ってみましたら、あるわあるわおもちゃだらけ。

I went to go get a present for my daughter. She wanted accessories for her favorite doll "Melu-Chan".

「メルちゃんが良い！」と言われているのに、親の私が目移りしちゃって
「わんこも可愛い〜！アンパンマンもいいかも〜！」なんて。笑

Even though says she want's Melu-chan, I started to see many other toys that looked fun too.

海外の方にお見せしたいな〜と思い、他のおもちゃもパチパチ撮影してきちゃいました。

I know many foreigners may be reading my blog so I took many pictures of Japanese toys.

テレビではいつも戦っているヒーローたちが小さくぷらぷらしているのを見ると
なんだか可愛くて見入ってしまう。種類も豊富だし。

On the TV shows the heroes are always strong and fighting, but at the store they are tiny and hanging all together. That's cute.

隣にはゲーム売り場もしっかり隣接。
上の子供たちが欲しがっているニンテンドーSwitch、余裕で買えるだろ〜
と思っていたけど、お友達から入手超困難らしいよ！と聞いて、焦って店員さんに在庫を聞いてみる

Of course they have a game section by the toys and my older kids want a Nintendo Switch and my husband and I thought we could get it any time, but my friends told me it is sold out everywhere and difficult to get. I asked the worker if they still had any Switches and the worker said "Sorry, it is all sold out and we don't know when we will get them in again.

「あ〜申し訳ございません、ただいま売り切れで次回入荷が未定なんです〜」って。



「げ〜！どうしよう〜〜〜〜〜〜〜！」

OMG!

あと、５日・・・

5 more days....

主人は「大丈夫だ、俺は見た！ネットでも秋葉原でも見た！」

My husband said "it's going to be fine, I saw them online and in Akihabara".

などど言っていますが、なぜか全く信用できません・・。

I think it's hard to believe...

どうなることやら・・・

そして、さすが日本！と感動しましたのがラッピングサービス。

ラッピングのカウンターは通常通りあるのですが、その他にこのようなテーブルが！

It was amazing that the store had great wrapping service for free. Next to the gift wrapping service counter there was a table with wrapping paper, ribbons and tags customer's could use.

商品を購入した人が店員さんにお願いするとセルフサービスでラッピングができちゃうコーナー

There was as sign that said self service. You just have to let the worker know you bought something and would like to use the wrapping paper.

と、言ってもバッグに入れてリボンで上をキューっと絞るだけ、しかもサンタさんの絵の
カード付きリボン。

It's super easy to wrap presents, just put them in the bag and tie a bow on it.

私、めちゃくちゃ感動してしまいました！
さすが日本！

カリフォルニアにいた時にはいつもとにかく買い忘れのないように買って
ラッピングは後回し、クローゼットに突っ込んで、クリスマス直前、前日に
子供たちが寝てから一気にラッピング！

買ってはクローゼットに入れての繰り返しで、
「こんなの買ったっけ？」みたいなのも出てくるし　笑
ラッピング面倒くさいし〜！という感じだったもので、本当に助かるラッピングサービス！

しかも、ラッピングをしてもらうのを待たずに自分でさっとできるし！

Japan is awesome that they have this kind of service everywhere.

When we were in California we would hide most of the presents the wrap them on Christmas Eve, but it was a pain in the ass!

思わずお店のお兄さんにも「素晴らしいサービスですね！すごい助かります！！」と
お伝えしちゃいました。笑

I had to tell the workers that it was a wonderful service they offered.
