I want from now on to make a list of no less than ten reggae singers, but this list will be particularly female singers. Men are usually viewed as singers of this musical genre, but there are definitely women who set the genre high (both musical and their own).

Tanya Stephens

One of their most important albums is Rebelution, which was released in August 2006, and in a few weeks all of them were sold both in Jamaica and in other Caribbean countries.

You are right in the dancehall and rap genres but overall women are very well represented as singers. I think a lot of it has to do with the respect (or lack thereof) these genres often show towards women.
yes @crypticat, to a good extent, some genders only exploit the sexual part of the woman, and perhaps this will keep them a bit on the sidelines, fortunately there are many who are certainly quite brave and fight to get their position.

Si, hay que saber escuchar de todo, ya uno grande puede filtrar cierta información. En buena medida el mercado musical ha estado dominado por el género masculino, creo que a estas muejeres les ha tocado duro para abrirse paso. Quizás esa letra tenga que ver con esa búsqueda de expresar y decir cosas que la mayoría de las mujeres no lo haría. Creo.
