In my country, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May. It's a special day when people usually give gifts to those who have the privilege of being mothers. I have two children, although there are days when I feel like sending them back, hahaha…

My kids are all grown up now. The oldest is a hopeless romantic—the kind who loves giving flowers. On Mother’s Day, he brought me a small bouquet: a pink rose and a sunflower, decorated with some plants—I honestly don’t know what they’re called—wrapped in pink decorative paper. Of course, I took pictures of it.

I put them in water to see how long they’d last. Today, two months later, I realize the water has dried up. What surprises me is that even though the bouquet is dry, the rose has kept its color, and the decorative plants don’t look that dry.

Of course, you can see the passage of time—the sunflower is completely dry. In fact, just today, as a joke, I told my daughter that maybe I’ll buy that bouquet at the cemetery 😂😂 because, despite the time that’s passed, it’s held up. Sure, it’s lost its color, but unlike other flowers, it’s lasted longer.
