I think all of the social platforms have portrayed the same image about themselves at a point of time. The idea of having a place where one can express themselves freely is a drive for more users to join. Maybe, that is not the only reason that discouraged those users from using the platform. Because, if you follow certain accounts, the change of policies won't change the content those accounts post.

Of course, if you carefully curate your feed, you might not feel the worst effects. But I think many casual users just get overwhelmed by negativity and misinformation. That’s probably why so many left.

True that.. I agree with the feed.. It is not only Twitter that had one better than the one they have right now.. Other platforms did (sort of) similar changes to their feed.
