In alcuni pezzi che ho pubblicato nelle settimane precedenti raccontavo che, mentre da un lato avevo iniziato a guardare i costi dei voli, dall'altro mi sembrava di avere in corpo un po' meno entusiasmo del solito nel cercare la compagnia aerea che mi avrebbe trasportato nell'isola.
A questo dubbio si aggiungeva quello relativo al fatto sul fare due vacanze di 50 giorni ciascuna o una sola di 90/100.
Dubbi che ancora permangono ma su cui passo tranquillamente sopra.

Onestamente, a prescindere dall'attuale situazione dell'isola per gente come noi la contingenza e' perfetta.
Mettiamo da parte il fatto di aver conosciuto un'altra Cuba dove, e' vero, c'erano piu' divertimenti ma dove trovare un posto per mangiare che non mettesse a repentaglio lo stomaco era un'impresa.
Oggi per un euro ci danno 415 cup, l'isola e' piena di ristoranti per tutte le tasche e di tutti i livelli, questo persino nelle provincie piu' border line come Las Tunas.

Nei negozi c'e' di tutto ma proprio di tutto, cose assolutamente impensabili fino a qualche tempo fa.
Certo vogliono del denaro, ma e' un vizio che ha anche il Crai di Giaveno dove normalmente faccio la spesa.
Le case de renta costano un terzo di quanto le pagavo nel 2000 quando misi piede sull'isola per la prima volta.
Gli hotel...neanche a parlarne.
Puoi acquistare un motorino a benzina a 1500/2000 euro e con quello hai risolto il problema di come muoverti.

Frequentare Cuba da lustri ci ha fatto conoscere anche delle belle persone, delle famiglie, degli amici su cui possiamo contare e che si occuperanno di noi se mai dovessimo entrare in difficolta'.
I voli, malgrado siano diminuiti come numero, ad aver pazienza, continuano ad essere decisamente piu' bassi rispetto a 10 anni fa quando per volare su Holguin mai si riusciva a scendere sotto i 750/800 euro.

I costi generali poi...dipende da cio' che uno vuole fare, diciamo che se fai una vita tranquilla soprattutto a oriente con 1000 euro al mese (io spendo ovviamente di più), casa compresa e scooter acquistato, la sfanghi, magari all'Avana ci vuole qualche soldo in piu'.
Poi, ripeto per l'ennesima volta, dipende...
A livello di internet, malgrado le recenti polemiche la situazione attuale non ha nulla a che vedere con quella di qualche anno fa.
Quindi in generale fatico a trovare un momento storico migliore di questo per svernare sull'isola, parlo ovviamente da turista a dei turisti.

In some pieces I published in the previous weeks I said that, while on the one hand I had started to look at the costs of flights, on the other I felt like I had a little less enthusiasm than usual in my body in looking for the airline that would transport me to the island.
Added to this doubt was the one related to the fact of taking two vacations of 50 days each or just one of 90/100.
Doubts that still remain but which I calmly overlook.

Honestly, regardless of the current situation of the island for people like us the contingency is perfect.
Let's put aside the fact that we have known another Cuba where, it's true, there was more entertainment but where finding a place to eat that didn't put your stomach at risk was a feat.
Today for one euro they give us 415 cups, the island is full of restaurants for all budgets and of all levels, this even in the most borderline provinces like Las Tunas.

In the shops there is absolutely everything, things that were absolutely unthinkable until some time ago.
Of course they want money, but it is a vice that even the Crai in Giaveno has, where I normally do my shopping.
The houses to rent cost a third of what I paid in 2000 when I set foot on the island for the first time.
The hotels...not even to talk about them.
You can buy a petrol scooter for 1500/2000 euros and with that you have solved the problem of how to get around.

Frequenting Cuba for years has also allowed us to meet nice people, families, friends that we can count on and who will take care of us if we ever get into difficulty.
The flights, despite having decreased in number, if we are patient, continue to be decidedly lower than 10 years ago when to fly to Holguin you could never get below 750/800 euros.

General costs then... it depends on what one wants to do, let's say that if you live a quiet life especially in the East with 1000 euros a month (I obviously spend more), including a house and a scooter purchased, you can get by, maybe in Havana you need a little more money.
Then, I repeat for the umpteenth time, it depends...
On the Internet level, despite the recent controversies, the current situation has nothing to do with that of a few years ago.
So in general I struggle to find a better historical moment than this to spend the winter on the island, I obviously speak as a tourist to tourists.
