Ho effettuato il viaggio dalla Valsangone a Casalborsetti, in auto, con la mia antica Punto.
Un tempo quando avevo una mia agenzia passavo le estati in giro fra autostrade, autogrill, caselli, traghetti e benzinai.
Per fortuna quel tempo e' finito.
Dico per fortuna perche' muoversi oggi in autostrada e' una sorta di girone dantesco che mi evito volentieri.

Coda ad Asti per lavori e poi da Piacenza a Bologna ogni 10 km altre code sempre per lavori.
Mi sono sempre chiesto perche' i lavori sulle autostrade che portano al mare vengano sempre fatti nei mesi estivi, ci sono 7/8 mesi invernali dove si potrebbero fare creando meno disagio in quanto ci circola meno gente.
Invece ogni estate, con temperature africane tocca fare delle code che si potrebbero tranquillamente evitare.

Anche perche' non e' che col disagio i prezzi scendano, cioe' ti rallento, ti rendo disagevole viaggiare ma almeno spendi di meno.
Fra tangenziali torinesi e autostrada oggi per arrivare a Ravenna da Torino ci vogliono 40 euro, praticamente un euro ogni 10 km.
Sono consapevole che la societa' autostrade sia una sorta di associazione a delinquere ma almeno se mi devi fottere il grano fallo con un minimo di intelligenza.

Il problema e' che, per la conformazione del paese, non esistono alternative alle autostrade, se ti metti sulla statale prendi 20 multe nel percorso e non arrivi piu'.
Per fortuna, ripeto, mi imbatto in questa cosa non piu' di 2 volte all'anno, la prossima sara' a settembre inoltrato, credo.

I made the trip from Valsangone to Casalborsetti by car, in my old Punto.
Back in the day, when I had my own agency, I spent my summers wandering the highways, stopping at rest stops, toll booths, ferries, and gas stations.
Luckily, those days are over.
I say luckily because traveling on the highway today is a sort of Dante's Circle that I gladly avoid.

There's a traffic jam in Asti for roadworks, and then from Piacenza to Bologna, there are more traffic jams every 10 km, again for roadworks.
I've always wondered why roadworks on the highways leading to the sea are always done in the summer months. There are 7-8 winter months where they could be done, creating less disruption because fewer people travel.
Instead, every summer, with African temperatures, you have to wait in traffic jams that could easily be avoided.

Also because the inconvenience doesn't mean prices go down; I mean, I slow you down, I make traveling uncomfortable, but at least you spend less.
Between Turin's ring roads and the highway, it costs 40 euros to get to Ravenna from Turin today, essentially one euro for every 10 kilometers.
I'm aware that the highway company is a kind of criminal organization, but at least if you're going to steal my money, do it with a modicum of intelligence.

The problem is that, given the layout of the country, there are no alternatives to the highways. If you take the state highway, you'll get 20 fines along the way and never get there.
Luckily, I repeat, I only encounter this issue twice a year; the next one will be in late September, I think.
