Recuperare e leggere post di Facebook o Twitter cancellati

Spesso accade che persone scrivano stupidate post su facebook, twitter, sul proprio blog o su altri social network, il post vada virale, ma poi resisi conto della sciocchezza decidano di togliere il post o addirittura di chiudere il profilo. Ecco un trucchetto per "recuperare" il post e leggere cosa avevano scritto.

Il trucco si basa nella lettura della cache di Google, quindi il funzionamento non è garantito al 100%, ci sono molti fattori in gioco: uno è il tempo trascorso e l'altro è la popolarità del post. Se un post viene scritto da Pippo che ha 3 amici e dopo 5 minuti toglie il post, probabilmente non troveremo nulla. Ma se il post viene scritto sempre da Pippo, lo lascia per diversi giorni online, il post va virale quindi viene condiviso da molti utenti, google lo cataloga allora noi avremo grandi opportunità di recuperare il post.

Recentemente avevo utilizzato questo trucchetto con un utente che aveva scritto post di cattivo gusto sulla malattia di Nadia Toffa, dopo che il suo post era andato virale aveva addirittura chiuso il suo profilo di Twitter. Quindi ho cercato nella cache di Google l'url del profilo dell'utente et voilà, moltissimi post erano, e sono tuttora, ancora visibili.

Guardando il profilo recuperato si nota però che non ci siano molti post cattivi, anzi la maggior parte dei post sono incoraggiamento e complimenti. Confidando la veridicità di quel post, ci rimane la curiosità di come mai quel giorno abbia voluto insultare la famosa Iena.

Come avete visto questo sto trucco si rivela molto utile anche per capire se si tratti di una bufala o meno, visto che fotoscioppare una schermata oggi giorno è un gioco da bambini.

(Per via delle regole astruse di privacy italiane non ho riportato l'url e ho oscurato il post ma con qualche ricerca potete trovare il post di Nadia Toffa e fare la prova)

Quindi come è possibile leggere post di Facebook o Twitter cancellati?


Supponiamo che questo post che ho scritto nel 2016, vengo preso di mira da un gruppo di nazi-grammar dal momento che ho messo l'apostrofo al posto dell'accento, ed io preso dal panico della gogna mediatica decida di cancellarlo.

A questo punto, lo screenshot del mio post è già su tutti i giornali, ma la gente vuole primo confermare che effettivamente sia un post vero e non di una bufala, dal momento che tutti sanno delle mie grandissime abilità letterarie..., e poi magari leggere altri post scritti da me per vedere se ci siano altri post con errori più gravi.

Quindi la prima cosa copiare il link, che ormai non funziona più perchè è stato rimosso, dalla barra dell'url e inserire questo url nel browser inserendo l'url da cercare alla fine del link.

Quindi nel nostro caso il link sarà il seguente http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:https://twitter.com/mirkojax/status/779009442608275456 e come per magia, si aprirà la pagina incriminata.

Questo semplice istruzione richiama la pagina indicizzata di Google che è ancora nella sua cache e così possiamo leggerla.

La cache la possiamo immaginare come la memoria di Google, tutte le pagine indicizzate finiscono li, ma siccome Google non può aggiornare questa memoria in tempo reale con i miliardi di correzioni che succedono ogni giorno, spesso le pagine rimangono nella suo archivio per diverso tempo prima che vengano aggiornate da Google.

In futuro Google ri-indicizzando il mio profilo potrebbe accorgersi che la pagina non è più presente e toglierla dalla cache, ma questa è una operazione che può richiedere molto tempo.

(In realtà non ho rimosso il post, perché se Google dovesse togliere la pagina dalla cache l'esempio sopradescritto non funzionerebbe più)

I principali problemi che possono rovinare la nostra sete di sapere

  1. Il post è stato rimosso troppo velocemente e Google non ha avuto il tempo di catalogarlo. C'è da dire che per siti quali facebook e twitter Google li indicizza molto velocemente, mentre va più lento per blog personale soprattutto se non popolari e senza l'ausilio sitemap xml che aiuta Google a indicizzare il sito.
  2. Se il post è stato postato privatamente o in siti che utilizzano tag che proibiscono Google di indicizzarli come il tag no-index. In questo caso non potremo vedere nulla, perchè Google non ha il permesso di accedere al sito.
  3. Ma soprattutto, per qualche strano motivo, non tutte le pagine indicizzate da Google hanno la cache disponibile. Per un sito personale, esistono tag per evitare che Google crei una cache come il tag no-cache, ma per i social network non ho idea per qualche motivo alcuni link hanno la cache mentre altri no, forse è solo una questione di spazio quindi per post pressoche inutili Google decide di non tenere una cache.

Infatti come potete vedere nell'immagine sopra, solo i post con la freccetta in giù hanno la cache. Il secondo link ad esempio non ha la versione in cache. Quindi se la ricerca della cache non dovesse funzionare, controllare se la pagina è stata indicizzata da Google e se ha una cache. Potete utilizzare questa istruzione immettendo l'url alla fine di questo link per visionare tutte le pagine indicizzate.

Oppure più semplicemente andate su google e cercate l'url preceduto dalla parola site:

Da qui potete anche cliccare la freccetta per visualizzare la versione cache.

Questo trucco della ricerca con site: è utile anche per altri ricerche come ad esempio vedere quante pagine ha un sito, o anche trovare pagine nascoste di un sito, cioè pagine un tempo erano linkate ma poi i link sono stati rimossi, nella maggior parte dei casi su Google si possono ancora trovare quei link.

Esistono altri siti, ma come il Archive.org per visionare un sito com'era in un determinato punto del tempo. Possiamo vedere ad esempio com'era Google nel 1999 o Facebook nel 2006. Un altro sito interessante è viewcached.com che raggruppa diverse ricerche, ma alla fine la ricerca della cache di Google è quella che risulta la migliore.

io di solito uso the archive.org solo per i siti, per vedere com'erano o anche per recuperare informazioni se il sito e' stato cancellato, anche perche' a volte e' lentissimo. Per il resto faccio con la cache di google che e' piu' veloce.
