"Chromotherapy" series.

Photographic project focused on chromotherapy research. The vivid and bright color of some materials, objects that recall some aspects and sensations of our unconscious nature. I used the still-life technique to have a neutral and clean background, and diffused light but also controlled to have no shadows but also a slight reflection on the body of the object. The shape and the material of the object together so illuminated shows its plastic and rubbery appearance. I'm looking for joy and happiness in the colors, the energy that color could transmit, helping us to enjoy life better, giving balance between psyche and body.

Color = physical well-being.
Green = hope, harmony and nature.
Red = sexual excitement, blood and fire.
Blue = refreshing, soothing and calming.
Yellow = intellect.
Viola = mystery and spirituality, transformation and magic.
Orange = creativity, altruism, physical and mental energy.
Indigo = Blue and purple mixed, emotional relaxation and spirituality. Luca Brogi Photo Visual-4 R.jpg

Historical references.
Therapeutic light arose as a great promise since ancient times. In the modern Bible we find the expression of a god "Fiat Lux". We can find many ancient texts where we talk about the cure through light. Heliopolis, founded by Herodotus, father of heliotherapy, was the Greek city of the sun where there were temples for solar therapy, the light was sent to the patient in the direction of the eye.
Ancient Egypt together with Greece were the promoters of chromo-spectral therapy, to treat physical, emotional or mental pain. Pythagoras, Hippocrates and Galenus were already practicing chromo-spectral therapy.
In 1672, with Isaac Newton and his prism it was possible to divide the spectrum into the various colors, expanding the possibilities of use of the various spectral frequencies.
In the XIX century doctors applied the characteristics of chromotherapy for the treatment of infirmity such as paralysis, but above all for the treatment of tuberculosis with sunlight and colors. In 1976, Augustus J. Pleasanton describes the effects of blue light in the glandular system, in the nervous system and in secretory organs.
Subsequently, the bactericidal power of ultraviolet light was discovered, and the faculty of light to increase the production of vitamin D by helping to cure rickets.
In Ayurvedic medicine the body has seven "chakras" (wheels of energy), "spiritual centers", the idea of a cure of the 7 Colors was born.

In modern times, the study has evolved to confirm that the different colors (longitudes of different waves) affect the endocrine system and the autonomic nervous system through the human eye on the pineal gland, which in turn will influence through the vagus nerve all the internal organs as well as the organs of perception and the peripheral functions of the body.
In the 90s, science demonstrated the authenticity of the information of the ancient populations.
In fact, the theory of Chakras, found in ancient Tibetan writings, maintains that light through the eyes (windows of the soul) enters the body up to the pineal (seat of the soul) to traverse the 7 energy centers. By stimulating the Pineal gland we also obtain a production of melatonin, which is important for a good functioning of the organism.

It's interesting you should mention the sunglasses point. Only talking about this the other day and that so many people wear them without real reason. I have seen many a day, people wandering around wearing sunglasses on overcast days. Point being - not only do I believe it's important to get the full spectrum of daylight as often as possible, you can harm your eyes by making sunglasses a habit.

Right. I've never used sunglasses except in dangerous circumstances, and I have to say I've never had any problems. I love the sunlight !!!

Wonderful post ..thanks for sharing...Best of luck friend ✫
