Welcome Dear Steemians, to an episode of #inventions!

Today will discover more about an interesting story that is our well-known radio. Many people actually don't know why was this such a hot topic at that time and still is for some. The @inventor16 of this great #invention was a "mystery" but most people who are into such things know who it really was...

Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American born on July 10, 1856, Smiljan - Croatia. @inventor16, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist, and @futurist would be the best word to describe this genius man! The Graz University of Technology, 1875–1878, is where Nikola got some education. But nevertheless, the man had a great, bright mind long before that. We know more than 300 awesome patents made by him and only God knows how much more was still locked-up in his mind. Upon Nikola’s death on January 7th, 1943, the U.S. government moved into his lab and apartment confiscating all of his scientific research, some of which has been released by the FBI through the Freedom of Information Act-https://www.foia.gov/ here you can check them all out! Now let us start talking more about our beloved radio!

THE STORY & HISTORY OF A RADIO

Guglielmo Marconi was initially credited, and most believe him to be the inventor of the radio to this day. However, the Supreme Court overturned Marconi’s patent in 1943, when it was proven that Nikola invented the radio years previous to Marconi. In 1897 Nikola applied for two patents US 645576, and US 649621. In 1904, however, The U.S. Patent Office reversed its decision, awarding Marconi a patent for the invention of the radio, possibly influenced by Marconi’s financial backers in the States, who included Thomas Edison and Andrew Carnegie. This also allowed the U.S. government (among others) to avoid having to pay the royalties that were being claimed by Nikola Tesla. It all leaves a bad taste in my mouth, what would people do for money. Discredit a man's work is more evil than any other form of harm except death. Was it his origin the reason for it or was it just greed? Would love to know what you guys think, please leave your opinion in the comment section!

As early as 1892, Nikola created a basic design for radio. On November 8, 1898, he patented a radio-controlled robot-boat. He used this boat which was controlled by radio waves in the Electrical Exhibition in 1898, Madison Square Garden. The robot-boat was constructed with an antenna, which transmitted the radio waves coming from the command post where Nikola was standing. Those radio waves were received by a radio-sensitive device called coherer, which transmitted the radio waves into mechanical movements of the propellers on the boat. Tesla changed the boat's direction, with manually operated controls on the command post. Since this was the first application of radio waves, it made front-page news, in America, at that time. Most of "us", think of Guglielmo Marconi as the father of radio, and Nikola Tesla is unknown for his work in radio. Marconi claimed all the first patents for radio, something originally developed by Nikola. Tesla tried to prove that he was the creator of radio but it wasn't until 1943, where Marconi's patents were deemed invalid! However, people still have no idea about Tesla's work with radio. A great shame and injustice at its best! Our world can really be a weird place sometimes...

RADIO WAVES

Radio waves are a type of electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths in the electromagnetic spectrum longer than infrared light. Radio waves have frequencies as high as 300 GHz to as low as 3 kHz, though some definitions describe waves above 1 or 3 GHz as microwaves, or include waves of any lower frequency. At 300 GHz, the corresponding wavelength is 1 mm (0.039 in), and at 3 kHz is 100 km (62 mi). Like all other electromagnetic waves, they travel at the speed of light. Naturally occurring radio waves are generated by lightning, or by astronomical objects. Artificially generated radio waves are used for fixed and mobile radio communication, broadcasting, radar and other navigation systems, communications satellites, computer networks and innumerable other applications. Radio waves are generated by radio transmitters and received by radio receivers. Different frequencies of radio waves have different propagation characteristics in the Earth's atmosphere; long waves can diffract around obstacles like mountains and follow the contour of the earth (ground waves), shorter waves can reflect off the ionosphere and return to earth beyond the horizon (skywaves), while much shorter wavelengths bend or diffract very little and travel on a line of sight, so their propagation distances are limited to the visual horizon. To prevent interference between different users, the artificial generation and use of radio waves is strictly regulated by law, coordinated by an international body called the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), which defines radio waves as "electromagnetic waves of frequencies arbitrarily lower than 3 000 GHz, propagated in space without an artificial guide". The radio spectrum is divided into a number of radio bands on the basis of frequency, allocated to different uses.

HOW I SEE THE WHOLE THING?

Since history has shown us many times by now that Nikola was, in fact, the @inventor16 of many cool things which are not under his name in the history books. I can say for sure HE INVENTED THE RADIO! Makes me angry because I know how hardworking can Balkan people be and we don't get the credits that we deserve. Hopefully things change in the future! May he rest in peace! Bossman...

Great post @kid4life, good to remember the importance of inventors! Why don't you upvote your own post?

Thanks mahh man! Yes it is, history itself is a bit shady in my opinion:P

I dunno, can you do that? lolz Ill rather give my 10c to someone else, or have that extra % if I need to flag someone!:))

Hopefully, the #realsupport will come after they read my post:)))

Stay coolz!:))

Great post, I can see that you have put a lot of work into this. And I learned something as well. So this really deserves my full 100% :)
Already curious about the next inventor you will present!

Ty for your #realsupport man!

Nice to see it worked for you and yeah, I do one episode a day, stay tuned;)

I can give you a hint... Nah, come back tomorrow :P Stay awesome!

Nikola Tesla was a great man sadly the elite killed him would like to know what else he would have invented till now and I am sure if he would have not been killed there would be something to get energy way cheaper then it is now.
