I'm new here so here's my introduce..

Hi Steemit, I'm new here -- so
please allow me to introduce myself..

I'm Norm Bond and happy to join you on this social journey!
Hopefully we can assist each other somehow with our sharing and connecting,
normbond_steemit_intro1.jpg
I currently live in Bangkok, Thailand. I'm originally from
Philadelphia in the USA. My professional area is
digital marketing and strategy to grow business.

I found out about Steemit through sharing my content on other
platforms including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit and such.
I kept seeing Steemit logos, and signatures and links so it got me curious.

So I did what everybody does, I asked my grandmom -- no seriously,
I Googled it, read the info, and now here I am!

I've read some of the posts and checked out the engagement.
Some very cool stuff and a great mix of people.

So I'm looking forward to learning, sharing,
"adding value" -- and such things like that.

I'm pretty much the same user @normbond on most platforms so please
just check me out if you're on those.

I'm just be getting geared up on here on Steemit.
So I will be adding my new, shiny Steemit handle to my other profiles.
Looking forward to seeing what's hot on here and following some of you.

So let's connect, build, have fun, get smarter, richer,
and expand our global network.

That's it for now .. thanks for reading.

Cheers! NB_steemit2017_800450.jpg

Loved your post, Also I really liked Bangkok when i was there last year must be an amazing experience living there. Welcome to Steemit :)

hi @vbey- Thank you for the welcome! Yes, living in Bangkok is incredible. The range of people and experiences is without limit. Cheers!

Nice to meet you, @normbond! Welcome to the Steemit Community, wish you good luck and a good start, ive send you a small tip and followed you, hope you have an amazing day! :)

Hi @vlone99 - that's awesome. You are my first tipper :) -- Have also followed you and wishing you continued success.

Hey, welcome! You're pretty far away from Philly. My wife grew up there in "Fishtown." She moved to Virginia to live with me when we first met. That was 10 years ago. How did you end up Thailand? How do you like it there?

There are a ton of other webpages to help you with Steemit. Here are some of the best for beginners:

https://steemd.com/ (This site is used to keep track of your voting power and other stats. You do not want to run out of voting power, and you only get so much per day. I keep my voting power around 80% for example.)

https://steem.makerwannabe.com/ (This site will tell you who follows you, who unfollows you, and who mutes you. It is great for meeting new people too. I regularly check it to see who has followed me to see if I should follow them back.)

https://steemit.chat/ (This site is the official chat webpage for Steemit. There are Discord channels too, but I usually stick to the official site. Come in to network and meet new friends. You can directly message people there too, so it makes it easier to communicate with your closest friends.)

Oh yeah, there are a lot of bots on here. If you see a cookie cutter reply, especially to your intro post, it is almost certainly a bot. Check the account's reputation. If it is low, I would recommend just ignoring them. Everything is public on Steemit, so you can go look at an account's comments and replies. Are they all the same? It's a bot.

Adding photos to your account as a new Steemian may be confusing at first too. The easiest way it to click to "Submit a Story." Once in there, use the built in Steemit tool to upload an image from your computer. Below the posting window, you will see "Insert images by dragging & dropping, pasting from the clipboard, or by selecting them." Click on the blue text. Once the image is uploaded, you can copy and paste the link into your account settings.

Verifying your identity is very important because it will get you more support and people will trust you more. The best way to verify is to link back to your Steemit account by using another public social media account. For example, I posted my Steemit articles from here through my Twitter account. Another person posted their Steemit information on their Facebook account. Some people will even post a video of themselves writing out their account information since that cannot be Photoshopped. The more famous a person is or the more valuable their content is, the more important it is that they verify. If a new account falls within those two categories and fails to verify, it may get blacklisted.

Again, welcome, and I've followed you! If you have any questions about getting started, look me up on the chat site.

Hi @finnian-

WOW, Fishtown!! Now there's a term I haven't heard in a while. Philly is a "city of neighborhoods" and that's a great one. Yes, long way from Philly so when I go home I tend to pack in tons of activities! Especially during the winter holidays. Thanks for connecting and give my regards to your wife from a fellow Philadelphian.

So I got to BKK after my wife was recruited here for a job in the global spa industry. I was doing digital, social media and PR consulting in the States. And since i always said "I can work from anywhere" -- my wife gave me the opportunity to prove it. LOL. That was a little over 2-years ago, I'm still cracking the code.

I really appreciate the information you packed into the welcome! I will be following up, and applying those tips! There is no need to reinvent the wheel. And the info on bots and such is great. Of course they're common to all platforms but it is helpful to know.

I am following you back now. Getting grounded on the platform and the community.

Kind regards,
Norm

You're going to do well here. Thanks for the thoughtful reply! You're very welcome for the help. It's my pleasure to help new steemians that show promise. You do. If you have any questions, please let me know. Try to make it into the official steemit.chat too when you get a chance. It is the best way to network with people and grow your account in a good way.

Hi @finnian!
Yes, I just signed up for the steemit.chat. Lots of information and good networking. And I'm certainly appreciative of connecting with real people and messages.

I think this is a great time for collaboration. And with the tools we have including social media, video and blogs we can connect globally like never before.

I used to publish a print magazine and had to pay good money to send someone a copy.
So I see digital media as really a game changer. The only limit is our creativity.

We'll be chatting and sharing more.

Kine regards,
Norm

Great! You'll love the steemit.chat site. I'll see you there. :)

Welcome to Steemit. I believe you will enjoy your stay here and bring more creativity to this community. Feel free to make friends. Much love from me.
George from Nigeria.

Hi George, @greatness96 -- I appreciate the welcome and the love.
It feels pretty cool. Looking forward to building with this community.
Peace!

Welcome to Steemit. Grandma knows best.

Haha, yes @coldsteem -- Grandma beats Google all day.

Welcome to Steemit!

thank you @trogdor - Cheers!

Hey! Welcome to Steemit. Loved the post. Looking forward to more content! Hope you have a good time.

Hi @firepower, I appreciate you stopping by with the welcome. Will definitely add more content, connects and shares. Cheers!

I liked it! I can see you're new here so I'm sending you my support. Here's an upvote from me and I hope to read more from you in the future!
As you are new to steemit and it can be hard for newcomers to boost their steem power so you should try out @MinnowPowerUp where you can earn up to 30% more steem power than just powering up through steemit! It's a subscription based daily upvote bot that draws its power from a delegation pool. I have more info on my experience with the system in this post where I explain how I earn over $1 a day from upvotes.

Hi @kromosoom, very interesting info! I will check that out. Thanks for sharing.
