What kind of things are you planning to post about, would it be related to your studies as a reporter or some sort of motherhood blog (this would be really nice as there are not too many of these here). I've also joined not so long ago and i find the community to be really nice for the most part, so I guess you'll like it as well, but you will probably not be into the stuff I post about :) it's about gaming.
