Have a Non Remote Personal Face to face Interview? and have not idea of What to do or What to expect?

Lately I have been requested training over this matter, and the more I think over it, the more I am convinced that my Technique of Cover Letter Shifted LinkedIn Summaries can do the Job/Trick.

So far I have been drafting/designing LinkedIn Summaries in la light way, without much rigor. But If I want a LinkedIn Summary be used as an Script for running interviews, then I need to get a more structured presentation.

A Cover Letter Shifted LinkedIn Summary is generic presentation to the markets of Who you are, What you are Selling, and for Where. It is a kind of template, typically organized in the 3 sessions: 1) The Personal Presentation, 2) The Presentation of the Experience you selling , and 3) The presentation of the Competences.

If a LinkedIn Summary is to be used as a Script for an Interview, then we need to understand the its process & structure, as well as to improved the way the LinkedIn Summary is presented to the public.

Interviews can be Open or Closed. In a Closed Interview, you are being asked question, and you are supposed to answer them as precise as possible. In a Open Interview, you will be requested to make an executive presentation somewhere in the range of 15 minutes, and this is where the LinkedIn Summary can be used.

The type of presentation you will make, will depend on your audience and your level of seniority and specialization. At the level of audience you will have:

  • Recruiters
  • Talent Managers or HR Managers
  • Hiring Manager

The case I currently have is one of a business commercial manager, being interviewed by a General Manager. In this scenario my forecast is as follows:

  • A General Business talk to warm up the relationship, then moving into a specific talk about the nature of the business of the hiring manager.

  • A Technical talk centered around key markets products & technologies being deployed by the client.

  • A Presentation of your Managements Skills as reflected by the type of organizational structures you have lead.

  • A Presentation of your Key Relevant Personal Competences for the Job.

If the LinkedIn Summary is going to used as a Script, then:

it must be structured in 4 paragraphs and not 3

  • General Personal Presentation

  • At the level of experience there must be 2 subparagraphs: One for the Technical presentation of your Know How in terms of industry, markets, products & technologies, and another for the presentation of the Managerial /Supervisory Experience you bring to the table.

  • Key Average Competences required in the Market for your type of position you are searching for, and that you really possess.

In addition to the above, for each application, you will have to generate a self evaluation matrix of the Components of this Summary against the Job Description you are applying.
