A never ending battle but who will win the war?
Some say we should listen to our heart to live a happy, fulfilled life putting our true desires and dreams first.
Some say we should listen to our mind to avoid risks, disappointments and being hurt.

These past couple of years I felt stuck. I felt like I wasn't going anywhere with my life, like I was filled with doubts and fears that kept me from moving forward. I knew in my heart and in my mind that this is not how I want to live my life but I wasn't really doing anything significant about it.
Only in the last few months, especially last few weeks I can say that I'm doing something to get out of the rut. I started to complete tasks that were on my to-do list for way to long, I'm becoming active and productive. I have a lot of motivation and I'm working on making my dreams come true!

Now that I'm on this new path, I have this question on my mind... Should I follow my heart's desires or should I listen to my mind?
I guess the answer is somewhere in the middle. I feel like balance is the key. Choosing only one and neglecting the other might not be the best option. Both, heart and mind, can give us a lot if we know what to take from them.
We will probably make some mistakes along the way, make some bad decisions, but hey - that's life.
As long as we're willing to learn from our experiences, good or bad, we're going to be fine.

Listening to our heart we discover our pure wishes and honest desires, what we really what and what is in the core of each and every one of us. Listening to our mind gives us a lot of ideas and different ways to reach our goals and probably stops us from making some stupid mistakes. Combined, with the best of "both worlds" we can achieve some pretty awesome things.
This was one of those random posts where I just share what's on my mind and in my heart. :) I would love to hear your opinion about this topic so please leave me a comment.

That's what I was thinking. For me personally, finding balance in everything in life is the key.

Depends on your inner authority I believe... Some people just know what is right, I follow my heart (or my gut feeling, solar plexus or what makes sense), and I very seldom doubt that. The brain is good at a lot of things, but I don't think that's where your drive is. Some people have to ask themselves, others know it through asking other people. My take on this is that a heart is never wrong, but alas is my brain. But I have no reason to say that's valid for everyone.

This is so true, I couldn't agree more!
Thanks for sharing your experiences and thoughts. Sometimes I feel like most humans are turning into robots nowadays, every day is the same, there is no or very little passion, desire and being present in the moment.
One of the reasons why I love Steemit so much is because of many passionate, creative people, chasing their dreams, following their heart and sharing their inspiring stories.
