The floating micro hut for life in the most extreme conditions
The Russian company BIO Architects has developed a prototype of the floating micro hut for life in the conditions of the wild nature. The hut has received the name DD16, it is completely autonomous (thanks to the solar power station) and maintains extremely low temperatures.
The total area of the floating dwelling – 16 square meters, plus 7 meters of the built-in verandah. The hut stands on pontoons and it can be moved from place to place with helicopter or the crane.
Now the prototype is located on the lake situated near Moscow and it is possible to reach him by the boat. In DD16 there are a living room, the bedroom, the built-in kitchen and a dining table. Heat is provided by the wood furnace.
The framework of the hut is made of the laminated tree with heater from polyurethane foam. External finishing is executed from densely driven composite aluminum panels.
Receives all necessary energy of DD16 from solar panels, and takes away water directly from the lake. Today the prototype has already passed the first tests the winter temperatures characteristic of the Russian conditions. Now the module is leased, and along with it his tests continue – if they are successful, the autonomous micro hut will be able to go to sale. The possible price of the inhabited module isn't reported yet.

This is a nice hut. I just wonder if the lake water gets filtered or you would have to boil it before drinking? and It says that there is a wood furnace for heat. Where would you store the fire wood?
