Truth Cat weighs in on Silicon Valley's Ban of Alex Jones

in #informationwar6 years ago (edited)

I've always enjoyed Pretty Catty's humorous and sharp political commentary on just about every single topic that she covers. I'm hoping Pretty makes the leap over here to Steem, yet I guess time will tell. In this episode, Miss Catty speaks to big tech's takedown of Alex Jones and exposes their double standard whereby "hate speech" is clearly allowed and many times even encouraged when it comes from radical leftists.

Then, she gets into the conspiratorial aspect of how these major companies all acted in unison in what appears to be a coordinated effort to silence one man whose speech is an apparent threat to the Deep State. Truth Cat goes on to discuss the private property aspect and how this may not apply what corporations become monopolies and therefore establish themselves as public commons.

She mentions the Knight Institute's suit against Trump whereby Trump blocked people from Twitter and then lost the case because it interfered with their right to freedom of speech. If you think about it, this might be why Jones hasn’t yet gotten the ax from this platform, as they already played this card and what’s good for the goose is good for the gander, right?

The question of whether or not these platforms are public utilities remains a mystery, yet in the meantime, it will affect the internet media; maybe so much as to be an influence upon the midterm elections? Are these companies trying to subvert the U.S. Democratic Republic under the guise of banning hate speech? Inquiring minds want to know.

How long do you think it will take for the issues of public vs private social media sites become part of a major political platform? Does it have the fire under it to be the next big thing? I hope so personally.

Well, the only problem is they don't even need the ban's to work for that long. I think from what I've been hearing they just need these bans in for the next few months in order to accomplish whatever their plan is. Whether it being winning back the house/senate in the primaries or maybe even something more nefarious than that.

They never end up letting go of power once they get their hands on it, it's their precious gold after all ;)

That's fine by me, i'd rather let go of their services if their run by idiots that would kill the golden goose. I resonate with what Corbett was saying, let them fail. They will make themselves irrelevant and uncool.

Brother's excellent post, always brother's success
