Columbus Day

It has become popular among the liberals to argue that Christopher Columbus committed the genocide of “indigenous people.”

Perhaps this is nothing more than an anti-Italian plot or an anti-Catholic plot.

Columbus was an Italian merchant, who talked Queen Isabella of Spain into financing his planned sea journey to find a water route to India, which was then regarded as a source of rich trading goods.

Columbus did not subscribe to the then popular belief that the world was flat.

Columbus famously sailed with three ships in 1492.

He first landed on an island in the Bahamas.

On subsequent journeys, Columbus landed on the island of Hispaniola (present day Haiti).

How did Columbus effect the genocide of indigenous people?

How had these “indigenous people” become indigenous?
This matter is especially querulous, because science teaches us that humankind originated on the continent of Africa and the Christian Bible, the Koran and the Torah instruct us that early man lived in Egypt and the Middle East.

Perhaps, this is nothing more than a weird plot by liberals to rename this data on which we celebrate the discovery of the “New World” to a date on which we celebrate Elizabeth Warren.
