Strip Searching Kids is just fine by CPS...Umm...

The Homeschool Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) usually has a lot of important things to say about family freedoms, parental rights, etc., and they seem to have (fortunately) a pretty good grip on the Constitution.

Here is an excellent article from them on the recent CPS assertion that they are perfectly within their "rights" strip searching your children:

Here is a key excerpt:

"HSLDA is responding to a major challenge in our quest to deliver justice for Kentucky homeschool mom Holly Curry in her federal lawsuit.

When the CPS investigator we sued on Holly’s behalf argued to the federal court that strip-searching the Curry kids during a nonemergency investigation did not violate the family’s constitutional rights, we replied with a legal brief laying out and adamantly defending those rights.

The investigator’s motion for summary judgment is a big hurdle in what could be a long march to the United States Supreme Court."

The case resulted from an unwarranted police call to CPS after Holly left her kids locked inside her car for a couple minutes while she went inside a bakery to buy muffins for her family. CPS showed up without a warrant and demanded entry. Holly refused, and CPS came back with a Sheriff's Deputy (but still no warrant) and lied their heads off about what could happen, and their "right" to come in.

They strip searched all six kids, of course found nothing, and Holly sued.

HSLDA said the case should be open and shut, but admits things are now so bad in the Amerika of 2019, that this is not necessarily the case. They assume they may win at the lower court level, but that CPS will immediately appeal--probably all the way to the Supreme Court. You can help here:

I was born in 1960 and if this sort of thing had happened when I was a kid, these perps would have been immediately arrested, and the judge would have kept them in prison for a very long time. Now, it is SO sad that such a case is even in doubt.

In case you were wondering...NO, THIS IS NOT NAZI GERMANY c. 1937. THIS IS AMERICA, where we don't allow government to strip search CHILDREN for any reason!! Who knows what kind of trauma has been done to those six kids? What did they --even purportedly-- do wrong? Strip searching adults without a warrant who are under arrest and strongly suspected of concealing evidence is one thing. But, CHILDREN??-- who aren't even charged or even SUSPECTED of anything??

No excuses, CPS. NONE.

I want people to go to jail, here.

...(but I'm not holding my breath.)
