Freedom Alert! Your help is needed to save gun rights! Gun rights under attack in historical bastion of liberty!

in #informationwar6 years ago (edited)

Vermont was the first state in the US to not require any permit to own or carry a gun. In the past couple of decades many states have joined them but now we are seeing a major assault on liberty there and your help is needed to try to stop it.

What color is this map turning?source

A few days ago I said this:

Watch out everyone, they are coming for our guns, I live in a state where the Attorney General decided to ban all AR and AK by declaration and declared all the people who bought and owned them legally to be felons who are not grandfathered. They will use such actions, they will use the banks, they will use state referendums, they will pass local ordinances, they will do anything they can and they have the banks and media on their side. Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom.

So now here it is:

Headline: In gun-friendly Vermont, lawmakers pass firearms control bill

Vermont lawmakers gave final legislative approval on Friday to a bill that raises the legal age for buying firearms and expands background checks, becoming the latest state poised to tighten gun restrictions after last month's Florida school massacre.

Check your state, I am sure they are working on more restrictions in mine as well, we have to stop allowing them to use manufactured crisis to push through gun control laws, otherwise they will pass them every time someone goes on a shooting spree.

The Democrat-controlled state Senate approved the measure, S55, in a 17-13 vote, according to the online legislative record. The bill passed the state House of Representatives this week.

Ah, there is your problem, the Democrats ran on gun control in 2016 which was crazy because generally most Americans don't really want more gun control laws, instead of changing their platform though they are just going to use the media and politicians to try to change how people feel so they agree with their platform.

The measure now goes to Republican Governor Phil Scott, who has shifted his stance and voiced support for some gun controls after the arrest in February of a Vermont teenager accused of threatening to shoot up a high school. The incident came two days after a former student killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on Feb. 14.

So let me get this right, when the laws work correctly, and when the FBI and police fail to enforce the laws, in both cases the solution is more gun laws?

Scott's support for gun controls marked a sharp switch for a governor with a 93 percent approval rating from the National Rifle Association (NRA) gun rights advocacy group in an otherwise politically liberal state with a reputation as a pro-gun stronghold.

Where the hell is the NRA? The NRA has abandoned us, I quit when they supported Trump because I knew he would flip and that if gun control came from a Republican then it would actually go through. The NRA ought to be sending out alerts and have a March for our Lives. Don't our lives matter?

Vermont, a largely rural New England state with a passion for hunting, is one of two dozen states where efforts to curb gun violence have gained momentum since the Feb. 14 shooting rampage that killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
The Vermont bill raises the age for gun purchases to 21 and expands background checks for private gun sales. It also bans magazines of more than 10 rounds for long guns and 15 rounds for pistols as well as rapid-fire devices known as bump stocks.

In 2016 a total of 4 people were fatally shot by other people in Vermont, there is no indication that any of them were shot with rifles. About 90 percent of the gun deaths in VT are suicide, you only need one bullet for that. There were zero incidents where someone used a bump stock. There were zero incidents where someone used more than 10 rounds in a homicide.

So these laws are utterly pointless in VT, the "gun problem" in VT is almost entirely suicide yet they make zero efforts to address that.

Vermont Public Radio reported that the Senate would take up two more gun-related measures next week. Both are aimed at removing guns from homes in cases of domestic violence or when someone is at risk of imminent harm from firearms, it said.

That's weird, federal law prohibits anyone with a domestic violence charge from owning or possessing firearms already. So we have risk of imminent harm that's the one that is truly scary, couched in some newspeak. This is the one where Trump says take away the guns without due process. They could never get it on the federal level so they are trying to pass these in lots of states. Once this is passed they can take anyone's guns at any time and they won't need a reason or due process. These laws sound like who they would really benefit is domestic abusers, they will be able to disarm their victims under color of law.

Gun control advocates say the turnaround in Vermont and other states has been propelled in part by the groundswell of student-led lobbying efforts and protests calling for firearms restrictions.

So now billionaires Soros and Bloomberg and a few brainwashed puppets is a "groundswell of student-led lobbying efforts. These efforts are anything but student led, this is the DNC 2018 trying to wag the dog.

After the Parkland massacre, Florida's Republican-controlled legislature swiftly passed a bill that raised the age requirement and set a three-day waiting period for gun purchases and allowed the arming of some school personnel. The measure was signed into law by another Republican with strong NRA credentials, Governor Rick Scott.

Of course those laws will have zero impact on preventing school shootings, feel good crap, waiting periods have been shown to be totally ineffective. Did he even go on the shooting spree the same day he received his rifle? Did he only have one gun? Are we supposed to believe that he would have just bought a gun on the black market or rented a home depot truck if he had to be 21 to buy one legally?

How do they come up with this crap?

Don't let 17 Democrats take basic civil rights from the citizens of Vermont. Call the VT Governor's Office today!

They will ask but you don't have to give them your full name or contact information and if you were to say you lived in Vermont they wouldn't be able to disprove it. I know how hard it can be to make a phone call but this matters. VT is a small state, if they get hundreds of calls that is a significant portion of the population. You may think that they don't care about phone calls or letters but they care very much about them. They want to get reelected they are desperate for feedback from the electorate. Stay calm and don't make threats

How do people downvote, is that by flagging because I didn't think you could down vote.

yes, a flag and downvote is the same

If you get a flag does that mean you lose any of your up vote money earned on a comment or article post.

yup, it's like they steal the money right out of your pocket and it also hurts your reputation score.

You are not a Legal Fiction, and Statues don't apply to you.
You are probably not a Citizen either, but you think you are which makes all the difference. http://www.annavonreitz.com

good luck with that.

Yeah, your role is based on luck after all, not on principle.

SarcasticAF

I am not sure what this has to do with my post.

By the very fact that nobody has the right to tell you what you can and cannot own as you don't have any such right. These Statues don't apply to the People, they apply to employees and citizens, and none of them is federal, or government, the People are.

these statutes would apply to residents of VT.

And which VT are we talking about? Land Jurisdiction, or Commercial? What's the meaning of resident's? What's a Non-Resident Alien? Do they apply to Inhabitants?

there is a link to the law above.

They don't apply to the Federal Employees or Citizens? Only residents?

all of the above, although there may be some exceptions for certain federal employees, if I recall there was an exception to the age thing for active military members.

Why did you fare me good luck? You didn't find it interesting what I remarked? It didn't dawn something novel or relevant to your topic at all because it seems that you whisked me off with minimal appeasement instead of asking me point blank the same question so at least you can have some clarity.

What principle do you think I was talking about?

It doesn't matter.

What matters when they come to your door in force?

I happen to know.

It isn't the law.

If principles don't matter than Nothing matters. So tell us, what matters since it's escalated to the point of nothing mattering anymore.

Every combat is won before it is entered. One of the reasons combat is won, is because of the principles for which it is conducted.

Two adversaries in a ring aren't alone, even though no one else is in the ring. They both represent communities that have invested in them as champions.

Your neighbors matter. Your personal arms matter. Your intelligence, in both senses of the word, matters.

The courts are corrupt, and the scribbles on paper only matter insofar as thugs respect them. I have seen police respect the law. I have also seen the opposite, and no less often. Whether they respect the law seems to depend more on them, than on whether those they are dealing with are criminals or not, and, if you think about it, this makes sense.

What comes from us is what we have in us.

In this way I seek to preclude unwinnable combat.

I believe there is a contest ongoing that can be won; is certain to be won.

Technology increases the power of individual. Early adopters and developers tend to monopolize technology, but it inevitably disperses to all and sundry, and becomes practically free. Consider how great the advantage was to the first cave man to discover how to harness fire.

This is the situation we are in regarding surveillance, drones, and etc., today.

Someday those things will be just as common to us all as fire.

Then, we win.

Thanks!
