Wikipedia currently reads that there were two Gulf of Tonkin incidents, the second of which there is significant evidence it never occurred, and likely did not occur as people were originally told by their trusted media and military. It also asserts that the signals intelligence patrol that supposedly actually had some return fire--even if we shot first, did happen. Either way, the after math of this event, many point to as a cause that led to Johnson leading to many lives and loot being spent in Vietnam--just for Ho Chi Minh to win anyways--super worth it you know?

It is interesting that even today, we may not have all the government documents about the lead up to the Vietnam War, while many seem to want us to blast into Syria no matter what Russia and China might think.

It will be interesting to see what the released government documents claim reality to have been concerning the murder and investigation of the murder of JFK. If there is a bombshell in the materials, then this may turn the tide in the fake news context we have currently. Suddenly the rulers will instantly lose credibility--or at least those from 50 years ago will have, and the rulers will claim they so good cause they finally told us true.
