Blustering Bullshit: The TV Show President & His Current Nonsense v. His 1990's Actual Stable Genius

in #informationwar6 years ago

Today the TV show president tweeted out some seeming moral majority fan fiction asserting:

"As ONE UNITED NATION, we will work, we will pray, and we will fight for the day when every family across our land can live in a DRUG FREE AMERICA!"

Real Donald Trump on Twitter:

This seems to not be coherent with previous stances Trump may have taken in the 1990's, where the Chicago Tribune notes Trump advocating a pro legalization stance in the context of major societal drug use at the time:

Trump blamed the country`s drug problems on politicians who ''don`t have any guts'' and enforcement efforts that are ''a joke.'' ''We`re losing badly the war on drugs,'' Trump told 700 people at a luncheon Friday. ''You have to legalize drugs to win that war. You have to take the profit away from these drug czars.''

Is it realistic as Trump's Twitter asserts to have a Drug Free America? If that is the case why was the Volstead Act repealed? Now sure perhaps if every American becomes part of a non drug using sub culture perhaps Mormons or scientologists it might be possible--but so far looks unlikely, especially with the heavily ingrained alcohol culture.

The anti Christian anti freedom crusade of state enforced prohibitions have yet to rid our society of drugs--couldnt God have made people perfect instead of kicking them out of the Garden of Eden if God was against free will? Perhaps if everyone was free to make their own choices and not be forced at the barrel of a gun to conform--they might make better choices and escapism fueled by drug use might be minimized if eliminated in a free society that has eliminated arbitrary coercive state intervention regulating nonviolent victimless conduct.

It seems to be taken for granted that the teleological consequentialist utility is maximized by the drug war--but it very well could be the case that users, their families and society is worse off due to prohibitions instead of compassion.

So far Trump's presidency has been bogged down by evidenceless collusion delusion and an aggressive evidenceless anonymous source failing mainstream media.

Perhaps if and when we have a media that deals with facts and finally holds power accountable, those who rule us might finally do the right things.

So far we have had a totally fake corrupt news that distorts reality and subverts the discussion of it. Perhaps Trump as the agenda setter may someday revert to his 90's stance on drugs, and help make America great--or at least not totally tyrannical again.
