मानव समाज तो लाखों वर्ष पुराना है। मगर समय के साथ साथ जैसे जैसे मानव विकसित होता गया। वैसे वैसे उस की जीवन शैली भी बदलती गई।सामान्य झोपडों में रहने वाला मनुष्य आज ‘एयर कंडीशनर बंगलों में रहने लगा है। इसी तरह उसका खान पान व रहन सहन तथा रीति रिवाज भी बदलते गए। आज 21वीं शताब्दी में रहने वाला मानव अपने आपको हर क्षेत्र विज्ञान को समर्पित कर चुका है। ऐसे समय में भी जब हम कुछ जाति वर्ग या समाजों में वो ही पुराने रीति रिवाज व परम्पराएँ कठोरता से अपनाते हुए देखते हैं तो बड़ा आश्चर्य होता है।

इस हेतु समाज में उसकी समस्या का शीघ्र व सही
समाधान करने के लिए ही पंच पंचायती का प्रावधान
किया गया था। आज के लोकतांत्रिक युग’ में भी पंच
बिना चुनाव के बन जाते हैं तथा सामंतशाही की तरह
पीढी दर पीढी पंच बनते जाते हैं। ये पूरे समाज पर अपनी
तानाशाही व निर्णय थोपते रहते हैं तथा पूरा समाज मूक
बनकर इनके गलत निर्णयों का भी पालन करता रहता
है। सैकड़ों लोग इनकी बातों से सहमत नहीं होते हैं फिर
भी डर तथा सामाजिक बहिष्कार के आतंक के कारण वे
कुछ भी नहीं बोल पाते हैं।

पंच' या न्यायकर्ता सभी के लिए सम्माननीय है मगर
इन न्यायकर्ताओं स्वयं ही उल्टे-सीधे न्याय करके पूरे
समाज को प्रताडित किया है। समाज को संगठित व
मजबूत बनाने की बजाय उसमें फूट डालकर तोड़ने का
ही कार्य किया है। ऐसा कई वर्षों से होता आ रहा है। इसी
का परिणाम है कि आज समाज बंट रहा है। एक दूसरे से
प्रेम नहीं, सम्पर्क नहीं है। भावना नहीं है। सहयोग नहीं
है। हर व्यक्ति दूसरे को शक की नजर से देखता है। जहाँ
भी मिलते हैं एक दूसरे की आलोचना व निंदा करते है।
दूसरे की बुराई करना ही उनकी बातों का एक मात्र विषय
होता है। आज का मानव चांद तारों तक पहुंच गया है।
संचार क्रांति ने पूरे विश्व को एक छोटा सा परिवार बना दिया है। मगर वाह रे ! मानव तू जितना ऊँचा जा रहा है।
उतना ही नीचे गिर रहा है। तेरा आध्यात्मिक, बौद्धिक,
धार्मिक, सामाजिक व राजनैतिक हर दृष्टि से पतन हो रहा है। आखिर हमारा ये पतन कब तक चलता रहेगा?

• क्या मानव का ये पतन मानव समाज को ही नष्ट नहीं कर
  देगा। याद रखिए जब तक समाज है तभी तक मानव भी
  ॥ है। क्योंकि समाज के बिना मनुष्य का कोई अस्तित्व ही
  से नहीं है। अत हमें समाज की एकता, उन्नति व मजबूती
  का प्रयास करना है न कि अपने छोटे छोटे स्वार्थों के
  व लिए समाज में फूट डालने व तोडने का।

ये समस्या सिर्फ एक समाज की ही नहीं है अपितु सभी जाति समाजों की है। परन्तु इसमें भी जिन जाति समाजों ने अपने आपको बदल दिया है। समय के साथ रिवाज बदले हैं। संतान को शिक्षित किया है वे समाज आज तेजी से आगे बढते जा रहे हैं। उन्होंने अपने आपको हर क्षेत्र में आगे बढाया है, मगर जो समय के साथ नहीं
चल रहे हैं वे आज भी पिछड़े हुए हैं। उनका जीवन स्तर
नहीं बढ रहा है। वे आजादी का लाभ नहीं उठा पा रहे हैं। ऐसी की समस्या से हमारा समाज भी पीडित है।
श्रेष्ठ पुत्रों, समय की पुकार है अब तो जागो । फालतू की बातें भूलते जाओ। एक और संगठित बनने का प्रयास करो। यही समय की मांग है आने वाली नई पीढ़ी की मांग है जिसे पूर्ण करना समाज के बड़े बुजुर्गों की जिम्मेदारी है।
