My Power Spot: Information Finding Championship (@ifc) S02R08 Entry
This is my entry for the Information Finding Championship Round 6 Season 2 "Power Spot" run by @ifc and @apolymask.
This was quite an interesting round from the first season, so I'm pretty happy to see it again! Of course, I can't submit the same power spot... but luckily its possible to have more than one place where we can feel calm and in control!
My Power Spot!
My two passions are music and technology (well, science...)... my first power spot was one that focussed upon the music side of things. Where the stage is a place where I feel calm and in control....
My second power spot, is a slight contrast to that... On stage, you are surrounded by people, and I really feel like I'm a different person to my normal self. In fact, there have been colleagues who only really know my on-stage "persona" and are a little surprised that I'm much more private and reclusive in my normal life!
So, my second power spot really reflects that other (normal....) side of my self. It is my little hideaway in front of my main computer in the attic. A place that is quiet and peaceful (where I can collect my thoughts for writing...), a place where I can escape into countless worlds of fantasy and imagination. To be taken out of the normal real life and into another!
... where I can explore the radioactive apocalyptic future as imagined by the 1960s....
... command various alien races in epic Universe spanning conflicts....
... pilot huge robotic BattleMechs tactical combat , commanding a mercenary unit tasked with survival in a feudal Dark Age future...
... explore the melding of Human and Cybernetics in a SteamPunk future that is riven with Conspiracy Theories come to life....
...delve into vast wintry fantasy wastelands, exploring the idea of what constitutes souls... whilst struggling to run my castle and surrounding domains....
... or command a Human and Mutant insurgency against a vastly superior Alien occupation force that has enslaved Humanity.
... or I could just do my taxes and invoice writing....

Technically there's no rule against that but I understand you wanting to switch it up! I would as well.
That was a good one! There was also another one in the first season finals where you picked your house, or the outside of it.. So this one is cool showing us the command room! Or the video game room. :) Or the.. Tax room, heh.
Lol! That made me laugh pretty good.
Looks like a nice spot to escape away to go on adventures or get some work done! Also those games look fun! It's been a while since Iplayed any games other than Clash Royale on my phone and your screenshots bring back a lot of good memories of when I used to be a regular gamer..The Uncharted series was one of my favorites!
Hopefully some day I get to have kids and I can get a new gaming system and play video games with them. :) Those were fun memories I had when younger and I'd love to share that with younger ones. And I'd just like to revisit games more myself as I think they're great mental exercise and a lot of fun!

I'm starting to do some gaming with my oldest child! I've been really careful to only expose her to really good quality games and not just time wasters or free to play Skinner boxes.... it's like anything else, build up the good taste early!
I always wanted to play Uncharted... but as a PC Master Race gamer... I never got the chance... still, we are spoilt for choice over many other genres of games!
Nice. Looks like a good spot. The darker picture makes it look cozy. Sounds like it would be a nice escape being in the attic as well. I bet its peaceful up there.

It is really nice and peaceful... if I put on the noise-cancelling headphones... I can't even hear the girls downstairs!
It's the same with me too, haha! I'm not a musician, but I do sometimes feel like a different person when I'm giving a speech or a presentation in my class among all my classmates, which is ironic because I'm a bit introverted.
I too feel powerful at times when I'm working on the computer, writing for my blog and I'm just too "in the zone" that my fingers start gliding over the keyboard like crazy.

I love that "in the zone" feeling! When you are just typing and flying through the keyboard! ... but on other days... it can be a struggle to keep a train of thought!
