An Alternative to Patreon?

About a week ago Patreon.com announced that it was updatding is Patreon's fee structure and a lot of my creative buddies jumped ship. This is very often used service for people in the RPG Industry to use. (See Dyson Logos, who has made it into the top 100 Patreon earners more than once.) This got me to thinking and planning an alternative to Patreon, a crypto-based, decentralized, immutable, unerring system. Had a brief chat with @nenad-ristic about it via the Viva Crown Holder's Chat.

Even though they admit they dropped the ball I still feel like this is a fantastic idea. Steemit has the potential to work for this, with a few caveats, people need to be able to donate other currencies, mainly Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum. (Things easily got for the non-techie layman, i.e. Coinbase assets).

Viva, when done could solve this problem, if run as a mint, which I would be willing to do, I do have a Crown. But they are not near to the point of being able to do this really soon. I am willing to put in the work to get this going, but not sure how much would be required on the server end? Would we need an entire wallet system working for each person? Or maybe we could let them deposit into an account and credit their username with x amount of fiat to spread among the creators they would like, but then this centralizes it... I think I would have to keep it decentralized, perhaps just a very pretty front end and the creators have a profile with the addresses they would like donations sent to, probably the best option, but creators would need to know who sent how much for the reward tiers. A lot to think about.

Would anyone be interested in this if I were to open the project up? Open source of course!

Thanks,

P.S. I don't normally ask, but please upvote and share, I would like to get this proposal in as many peoples hands as possible.

I'll keep an eye on this. I haven't really been impressed with Patreon direction since I started using it.

I love this idea and am eager to see more solutions for the monetization of creative content.

But why Viva? What are its strengths compared to a Steem + Ethereum hybrid platform?

I don't really know anything about Viva yet and would really appreciate any insight you can share.

viva will exchange any 2 any, meaning they can deposit ETH and it will convert to VIVA then to LTC for example. Since Viva's value is pegged, the conversion process should be at full value all the time, or at least most of the time.

Steemit + ETH is not a bad idea though, I am still looking for alternatives.
