icofomo.com migration away from Medium - to the new beginning!
Last night my website - https://icofomo.com - hosted on Medium was suspended.
That was totally unexpected, in the first instance I've checked my email - no notification, no nothing.
Then I put "Medium suspended" in the search query, found terms and conditions and the email to contact support.
I've immediately explained my situation and asked to unblock me.
Then, after fully reading terms and conditions I've realised something I was doing wasn't technically correct.

The moment I've realised they have upper hand - I've immediately started transition process.
Not only they have upper hand but they are US corporation, recently Facebook and Google prohibited crypto advertising so I kind of knew that there will be no discussion.
- backup articles
- publish them on Steemit
- change DNS
- setup hosting
- configure redirects
It wasn't that hard, just cumbersome, frustrating, manual process.
This morning I wake up and... They apologized me:
Sorry not sorry, I've spent around 4-5-6 hours of a cumbersome manual process and there is no coming back :(
I am intending to repurpose https://icofomo.com for new purposes - this time around not as the "bottom of the food chain", but some meaningful advisory/research activities...
Someone wanted to hire me and the example research report was written like an advertisement. Please no, surely there is a space for genuine, independent research too. Will I do this? Unsure, there is always a bigger fish to fry...
