Destream - The First Decentralized Global Financial Ecosystem For Streamers

Ok so who hasn't seen or heard of a popular streamer playing your favourite game or an awesome artist being creative on camera drawing, painting or playing a song by request. Or who hasn't enjoyed a mukbang or watched a cryptotrader, stream their opinions about the market news, ICOs, etc. No matter what kind of content you like to consume online, a streamer definitely covers it. It has become a lifestyle for both the viewer and the streamer, and lifestyles impulse economies. That's what the team behind Destream have identify, not only the opportunity but also the potential to redefine how this economy of streaming content works in the present.

There's multiple platforms online where you can start streaming right away or start watching people streaming great content, but is there a consolidated ecosystem for the streamer? The answer is simply no. There's twitch, Youtube, Mixer, Periscope, YouNow, and the list keeps going. Each platform has its own terms and conditions for views, payments, revenue models such as advertising, subscription and tipping models. There's no one easy way to consolidate all of this and make it simple for the streamer. That is true until now with the emerging platform of Destream which acts as a hub for a single access point for streamers, viewers and advertisers. Therefore, this project is not aiming at replacing the current streaming platforms.

This platform is aiming at consolidating all interactions in each and one of them and simplifying them in one place: the Destream platform where you can manage your relationships with advertisers through the use of smart contracts, the possibility for the viewer to subscribe to their favourite streamer using the DST Tokens, integration of all streaming platforms in one single place, messages, voting power, skin settings, marketplace and many more new possibilities all the participants of this ecosystem can benefit from through the platform which is based in the stratis blockchain.

Why do we need Destream?

Currently, the transaction costs for each and one of this platforms is too expensive. To transfer money earned through streaming, one must set up an electronic payment system, paypal or link a bank account and this can reach up to 10% in fees. So in addition there's not a consolidated payment system to support streamers. There's also many rules and restrictions in regard to how streamers have ownership of their funds. There's no guarantees of payments in some cases because of freezing the funds for various reasons. In other words, It's awful, time consuming and a headache for streamers to manage their money. The ways to establish a contractual relationship with the viewer or other interested parties, such as advertisers and businesses are weak.

This is where Destream comes to the rescue and actually improves the experience for everyone in this industry. By using blockchain technology, transaction costs can be cut by more than half. There will be a universal rule for depositing and withdrawing money, simplifying the experience for everyone. The smart contracts will help the streamer set contractual relationships with business and advertisers in an easy manner.

The interaction in the platform will increase due to these smart contracts because their use cases are endless. For example, the streamer can setup a contract that will act as a survey so he can identify what his/her audience prefers as content for a future stream. The viewers/subscribers will be able to vote using DST tokens. This in turn, increases the engagement of the viewer, improves interactivity and the experience becomes more intimate between both parties.

Talking about getting intimate. The streamers will have their own marketplace to sell their products in a more personal way, they will be able to customise it letting the streamer add his/her signature touch.

And like I mentioned, the relationships between businesses and advertisers will have a huge improvement thought this platform because of the ability to make settlements with smart contracts. Businesses will also be able to gain insight by purchasing big data analysis from the platform, with DST tokens.
