Special thanks to @steemseph for this graphic.

[Author's introductory note: My apologies to the Interactive Battle Tournament players and fans who were expecting this post to be published sooner, I've been too busy during the current IBT.]

The Interactive Battle Tournament (IBT) series, created and hosted by @lordnigel, is currently in its 7th edition. What is unique about this series of contests is that many of the players who participate also contribute to help the contest become better, whether that be by providing content or bots, or otherwise helping the contest run more smoothly. I currently serve as the field judge, assisting @lordnigel with rulings, and assisting players with resolving errors and/or informing them of their available actions.

The IBT Book of Universal Records was originally a joke concept that was conceived between the 2nd and 3rd editions of the IBT. In the 4th IBT, the joke concept turned into a reality. Sometime in the middle of each IBT, a new edition is posted as a chronicle of noteworthy/historic events. The initial content in each new edition is based on the state of the book at the end of the previous IBT.

But just like the IBT itself, the book cannot be made successful (or even accurate) with the work of just one person. This is where other talented Steemians involved with the IBT come in. You can help provide content by commenting on this post -- the best and/or most accurate info will be added into the book and posted in future editions. The possibilities could potentially be endless.

With all that being said, let's get on with the content for the latest edition for the IBT Book of Universal Records. (Content will be periodically updated during the 7-day timeframe after the initial post, as my schedule permits.)

The People's Turn

Obviously, this work is not all my own content -- it is a compilation of content assembled through the contributions of IBT players. As such, you the players should feel free to use the comments to point me towards other content that may be bookworthy. (Comments may also be used to provide suggestions/feedback.) Everyone who authors new material that is officially accepted into the IBT Book of Universal Records deserves to, and will be compensated for said contributions. Everyone whose new contribution(s) are accepted into the book will receive an equal share of the liquid portion (SBD and STEEM) of the post payout (the rewards are set to 50/50). I will distribute the entire liquid portion and keep no share for myself because I get the full SP portion by default.

The initial share pool for this edition is as follows:

  • @steemseph -- submitted a graphic near the end of IBT6. It has been approved as the new cover picture for the IBT Book of Universal Records, as I deemed it to be an improvement over the previous submission.
  • @lordnigel -- asked a question in the IBT7 boss round that led to the creation of a new record for the book.
  • @castleberry -- via his character Tim Ross, is a co-holder of said new record.

The following people have contributed new content that has been accepted into the IBT Book of Universal Records:

  • (no one yet; will be updated as necessary during the week after posting)

Let's find out together, what this chronicle of the IBT's history will become.

So Cool! Our IBT hero's like battlez but cool prizes never hurt anyone

Hahaaa! I love it!

I don't need no stinking rewards.
I just want to help make IBT great!

When IBT was first created, back when it was a 50/50 competition I came up with a few highlevel principals about what I wanted IBT to be about...like a place to come for community/fun a short break from doing your quality posts, have some fun and make steem. I recall one was to spread the wealth. I will dig back through the original posts and try to post them here again.

...Allot has changed since then and we might decide to review/update together as IBT collective. Having some guiding principals/good values about what IBT is about might help new players to understand what we like here...i.e. patience, fun lovers and non greedy types hehe

If you check this post, there were 3 very simple objectives: https://steemit.com/contest/@lordnigel/interactive-battle-tournament-2-build-info-and-feedback-page

Might be nice to preserve these in our unofficial history books :)

Share the Steem - One of the reasons I'm even interested in crypto is it has the potential to spread the wealth. I want lotsa people to win some Steem not just the same one person everytime. It's your upvotes that power it, by upvoting everyone is contributing to sharing wealth.
Steemians interact - The reply capability of Steemit gives people a freeform way to participate in the same story. In some cases Steemians are virtually battling each other, just for kicks haha..
Steemians have fun - Relax about making posts, Upvoting and making more Steem for a bit; release the inner geek and maybe win some easy Steem in the process of playing IBT.

You received 1.29 % upvote as a reward From round 1 on 2018.07.24. Congrats!

So here was the book's payout:
