Our work today at a poor farm school!

in #i5 years ago (edited)

She looked at me intensely with those big brown eyes!

Wherever we go, if there are tiny tots around, they will stare at me like this. Be it in a shopping mall, a park or anywhere else and we have tried to figure it out, but no answer is forthcoming. I normally hold their gaze to try and get a reaction but nothing, just an awesome stare. In any case, I had the honor to unveil a mural at the school this morning that commemorates all those that have died and also the survivors of cancer!
Here, let me show you!

Beautiful isn't it? The background depicts the farm lands and orchards of the apple valley and the colors were matched to all the types of different cancers. A poster that celebrates the life of our friend that recently passed away, Lady Cecilia Hiemstra was also posted on the wall of remembrance!

All of the guests stood under the roof of the passage, as it was raining when I uncovered the artwork on the wall.

Then it was the artists turn to explain the mural, but he was scared of the rain and so I covered him with my jacket!

After the unveiling of the wall, we all had to proceed to another area to dedicate and open the new hall that was built for the school and of course also to take the visitors on a tour of the school's new computer center with all of the computers that they received from @papilloncharity.

I took the photo above during the dedication songs of the children as a thank you for the new hall that they are singing in here!

But I will show you all of the rest in another post. It is so heartwarming when one has a look at the excited little faces and when you know that you have helped them by making things easier for them at the school. Education is what it's all about and if they can study in comfort, it will be sure to enhance their learning capabilities.
Our next step is now to get one of the gardening tunnels for them so that they can learn to grow their own food.

We hope you have enjoyed the pictures and the story and thank you for visiting a post by @papilloncharity

Thank you and upvoted!

You know, little kids know instinctively if a person is exceptional. It is like like animals during an earthquake, they run because they know. They sense it.

I think kids sense the love and compassion you have. That is the answer that I have and even you have to admit, it sounds just about right!

You are loved, Stephen.

Tip!

That's the thing about you and your glass ball Lady Denise, you always have the lovely answers. We have considered the love aspect, but I sense that it's the latter part of your comment, the passion that they feel. I had a most terrible childhood and every time that I give to them, I give to the small little boy that I carry around inside of me. The little boy whose hand I hold with the promise that nobody will ever hurt him again. Therefore I think it is more of a psychological, or a spiritual connection. But then it's a question of can a small child see such a connection? Or then again maybe it is love after all. Many times I am embarrassed when a parent physically tries to turn the child's stare away. Such is life! Thank you greatly for the kind support and may you be blessed!

It is a blessing just knowing there are people like you in the world. Your love is abundant and your heart is always open.

Oh dear @papilloncharity, those eyes! Love the artwork!
I do hope & pray you find a home close to where you are so you can continue working with the people there!

I think we will Lady Lizelle, the school's principal pulled me aside today and he said that they want me to help with their planning for next year. We will see how things turn out! Blessings and thank you for the care!

That sounds promising!

That first photo is so touching and the little touch of giving the artist you jacket just highlights how caring a person you are.

Love that mural

Thank you JJ, and can you believe that the guy did the mural in 2 days! Blessings!

WOW that was real quick very impressive

Mural is very attractive, a wonderful way to remember the many lost to cancer @papilloncharity

Teaching a little gardening always goes a long way for children to take knowledge home with them to take into rural areas for sustainable living.

That's the idea Lady Joan, if we can get them interested in growing vegetables, seedlings and all the rest of it, it will enhance self sustainability. Just pray that my plan for a donated tunnel works! Blessings!
