Venezuela's Government is Probably the Most Selfish of All Time

So I checked in with the Venezuelan Bolivar since that's one of the modern day examples for hyperinflation.

And it turns out that not only had it been a problem in the last 5 years No. Venezuela's currency has been hyperinflating away for over 20 years!

If you had held your wealth in US Dollars before the turn of the century, you would've ended up 620,000 times more wealthy compared to your fellow people.

This explains the wealth inequality there being so gigantic, and it's obvious that the government doesn't give a shit. They just don't. They knock off zeroes, they reevaluate gold without actually fixing the currency, effectively devaluing it even more, and for most of the last decade they hardly cared to actually update the inflation statistics.

Their cryptocurrency, I'm pretty sure only the rich use it around there. At least a lot of the people down there are able to support each other. Government regulations to quell the rise of the have-nots have prevented any type of major revolution. Literally those at the top are playing this like it's a joke.

Interesting.
