Forth in thy Name O Lord I go- verse 1

in #hymns5 years ago

This hymn by Charles Welsey is one of my favourite hymns and i want briefly share on the hymn and i will do it verse by verse. This morning we shall examine verse 1 and perfectly planned by God, this was the hymn we sang during our morning devotion.

"Forth in thy name, O Lord, I go,
my daily labour to pursue;
thee, only thee, resolved to know,
in all I think or speak or do."

The author shows us a picture of a man whose life is in God's hand. His thought, words and action are God centered and in this does he go in search of his daily pursuit. The author speaks from the point of a man who is focused on one thing and one thing only and that is knowing the Lord more. He has resolved to know only God and be guided by the counsel and word of God.

From this verse, it ie clear that a man whose aim is to know God will always have all his activities centered around God. A God filled life is a Godly and Fruitful life. As we go ahead through this day, we must resolve to know the Lord in all we think, speak or do and the Lord will reveal Himself to us in Jesus Name. Amen

It is with Love!
