The harvest peak has begun
We are at the stage that there is so much produce I can’t keep up. I’m canning, pickling, freezing all day long. Soon we’ll get a dehydrator, if anyone has a suggestion of favorite food to make in the dehydrator leave it in the comments below. Do’s and Don’ts are also appreciated.
We’ve had a tiny bit of rain and temperatures have dropped to normal so the garden is thriving. We had a couple new tomato varieties to try this year and I have to admit:
I am deeply in love with this Solar flame tomato. Just look at that color!
The other tomatoes are going fast as well. I am still waiting for the first fruit on the Indigo apple and Russian purple. They are not quite ready yet. I am a horrible person cause even in this food preserving marathon I still ordered more seeds, including five tomatoes.
I need to do some serious garden planning coming winter.
These are Brutus, Marmande and Solar flame. Also one tiny Roma but I forgot which variety.
Just a short talk today.
The slowcooker is ready with the next batch of sauce.
Until next time!
Those are some lovely tomatoes! The coloring of Solar Flame is lovely. :))
