Trading animals and making road trips thanks to STEEM!

Last week I got a call from the one and only @papa-pepper letting me know he was going to be in my neck of the woods, and wanted to swing by. He remembered from his last visit that Heather and I were looking to start meat rabbits, and wanted to see if we were interested in some.

I had been looking to give or sell my coturnix quail off to make room for my new jumbos, he had been wanting quail for a while, and a deal was struck!

He had a busy day and also needed a bit of help to shave some time off so he asked @freedompoint and myself to take a trip to the Missouri Conservation dept to pick up 1000 trees for him.

Road trip!!!!

Once @freedompoint and I made it back, @papa-pepper made it to the homestead with the rabbits. We got the quail loaded in a cage with the help of Monster Truck of the @little-peppers.

While @freedompoint was on his grand tour of Ohio and Kentucky, he had me watch over his homestead and tend to his chickens, in exchange for some SBD and a great deal on some cages to house the rabbits. We now have 4 females and 4 males, and will be picking which 2 boys to keep this weekend and which to prepare for a family dinner when Heathers brother and sister stop by for the weekend. We are so happy to have them and feel so blessed to have great homesteaders so close to us. Great trades like this is what help provide a means to be self sufficient and live a healthier life!





Between these rabbits and the jumbo quail hatched (only 15 of 120, but the farm i ordered from is replacing the batch! ) we will be able to have a great source of meat and pelts, as well as a great side income.
