Apis cerana, Indian honeybee, is a subspecies of Asiatic honeybee. It is one of the dominant bees found and domesticated in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Burma, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand and mainland Asia. Relatively non-aggressive and rarely exhibits swarming behavior, ideal for beekeeping.
