Garlic is something we use often in our homes especially in cooking. In this post i will share my thoughts and experiences about garlic its benefits how we store it and how we use it in my country. Do you eat garlic often? Do you include it in your meals?

Yes i eat garlic very often. Garlic is an important part of our cooking. In my home we use garlic almost every day. We used it in many dishes like curry rice lentils and even meats dishes. The smell and taste of garlic make the food more delicious we usually make a paste of garlic and ginger and store it in the fridge. This paste is used in many dishes for flavor and also for health benefits.

What benefits do you know about garlic?

Garlic has many health benefits. I have heard from elders and read online that garlic is very good for our body. Here are some of the benefits I know:

• Garlic helps to reduce blood pressure.

• It is good for the heart.

• It boosts the immune system and protects us from colds.

• Garlic is helpful in digestion.

• It can also help to reduce cholesterol levels.

• Some people say it helps to clean the blood and remove toxins.

• Garlic also has antibacterial and antifungal properties.

In simple words garlic is a natural medicine. Many people eat raw garlic in the morning with water for better health. I personally don’t eat it raw because of its strong smell but i enjoy it cooked in food.

Is it easy to find garlic in supermarkets in your country? What is its price on Steem?

Yes garlic is very easy to find in supermarkets local markets and vegetable shops in my country. In fact most people grow garlic in their villages. It is a common vegetable and always available in every home. About the price on Steem i am not sure about the exact garlic price in SBD or Steem coins but in our local market the price of garlic keeps changing. Sometimes it is cheap and sometimes it becomes expensive. But still people buy it because it is so useful and necessary in our daily food.

Do you have any special way of storing garlic to preserve its properties?

Yes we have some simple ways to store garlic. In our home we usually store whole garlic bulbs in a dry and dark place like a kitchen shelf. We also peel garlic and make paste with ginger which is stored in a clean jar in the fridge. This paste is very helpful while cooking and saves time. Another way we stores garlic is by drying it in the sun and then using it later my grandmother sometimes mixes garlic with oil and stores it in a bottle. She says this keeps the garlic freshs for many days.

What is a famous dish in your country that includes garlic as a main ingredient?

In my country one of the most famous dishes that include garlic is "Garlic Chicken Curry". It is made with chicken garlic paste yogurt and spices. The garlic gives the dish a strongs and tasty flavors another dish is "Daal Tadka" a lentil dish where garlic is fried in oil with cumin and red chilies and added to the daal. This gives the dishes a special aroma and taste. We also use garlic in many homemade pickles and sauces. So it is a big part of our traditional food.

Garlic is truly a gift from nature. It is full of taste smell and health benefits. It is easy to use easy to find and very helpful in many ways. I am happy to write about this wonderful food and share my thoughts with all of you. Thank you for reading my post.
