Hablemos sobre la Ortopedia
Hello everyone. This time, I would like to participate in a contest hosted by @helengutier2 about Let's Talk About Orthopedics - Contest. This contest is a follow-up to my previous post. I would like to invite my friends @jennirfem @tahispadron @aplausos to participate in this contest.
The word 'orthopedic' is also used in the specialty of dentistry. In dentistry, 'orthopedics' means orthodontics, the treatment of those growth and developmental factors. Dentofacial orthopedics is used to correct imbalances and deformities of thejawbone at the earliest age that is feasible—so that we can prevent the issues from worsening.
Orthopedic appliances (eg, headgear, expanders, functional appliances) can usually be implemented at 6 to 12 years of age, depending on the patient's response to treatment and the type of deformity they have.
This is a ‘golden period’ when the bones of the child are still growing, and changing the position of the bone is relatively simple. Early treatment can also head off the need for more invasive measures (think surgery on the jaws).
On the other hand, orthodontics is one branch of dentistry that specializes in straightening the misaligned teeth also known as Crowded or Gapped teeth, or the bite. Orthodontic work is typically carried out by using braces, or braces, to shift the teeth into the best position.
Orthopedics versus Orthodontics Orthodontics is the focus and the timing of treatment. Orthopedics is more focused primarly on controlling the growth and development of the bones and jaws at earlier ages ortodontics is on the movement of the teeth and generally begins in the teenage years to early twenties.
