The Money Mindset
The holy book says money answereth to all things (Ecclesiastes 10:19). If money answereth all things, does that mean Money is everything and can do all things? Well, you will get to learn more if you follow this through to the end.
What is your option about working hard and working smart? |
|---|
Here is my take on working hard versus working smart.
Working hard is about us putting in a lot of effort and time into something. In other words, we are grinding away, putting in long hours, and really pushing ourselves. Hence, hard work is about dedication and sweat. Most people see this as a bad now with the inventions of technology and all, well that for me is a wrong perspective because the good thing about working hard is that we are really showing our commitment and we are likely to get something done. But then, with all the hard work we might burn out, or worse might not be using our time in the most efficient way, which is where smart work comes in.
That is, working smart on the other hand, is about us being efficient and clever with our time and effort. i.e., it is about us figuring out the best way to do something, maybe using tools, strategies, or shortcuts so we don't necessarily put in more hours, but making the hours count. This therefore means that we can get a lot done without exhausting ourselves, even though we might miss out on some of the benefits of just putting in the effort.
Therefore, knowing how they both work, here is my opinion, I think the best approach is a mix of both. This being that, we need to work hard, meaning we have to put in the effort and be dedicated, while also being smart at work, meaning we should always look for ways to improve ourselves, be efficient, and make the most of our time. After all, we can't just run a race by putting in a lot of effort if we don't know the track, so we need to be smart about it. And also, we can't win a race just by knowing the track if we do not put in the needed effort to run.
Why do you think money answers to all things? |
|---|
Well, "Do I think money answers to all things?" It's a bit of a loaded question, right? I mean, we all know money isn't everything, but let's be real to ourselves, it sure does make a lot of things easier or am I wrong?
First off, money buys us options. Like if we need a place to live? Money helps. If we want to travel? Money helps. Are we sick? Money helps pay for the treatment. Truly, money is like having a superpower that opens doors and removes obstacles, good. But in all these, we are told that it does not a guarantee us happiness.
Then again, there is the whole stability thing that comes with it. Like when we have money in the bank, or investments, or whatever, it tends to give us a sense of safety, as we are less stressed about bills, emergencies, or the future in general. That peace of mind I believe is pretty valuable by all of us, and money helps provide it.
Well, in every action, there is also an equal opposite reaction as we are taught. That is, all the goods that come with money can just flip to be bad. Well, it's no secret that money cannot buy us everything, things like true friends, real love, or good health. It definitely cannot fix a broken heart or make us a better person.
So, do I think money answers to all things? Well, not entirely. But then, I can't lie to you, it does answer a whole lot of them, as it is a powerful tool that can make life easier and give us more choices.
There are people who believe that one day they would become rich without them having a laid down plans to get the money, what's your take on that? |
|---|
For me, getting rich is something that requires effort, like setting goals, making plans, and working hard to achieve them. This could be starting a business, investing wisely, or climbing the corporate ladder, but then there is always some sort of strategy involved.
But then, I can say that there are some rare exceptions, like someone getting to inherit a fortune, or stumble upon a brilliant idea that makes them millions overnight. Hence, while it is fine to dream big, hoping to get rich without a plan is not the best strategy, as it is like trying to build a house without foundation.
Therefore, I feel it is better to have a plan, even if it is a simple one where we are actively working towards our goals, and we are more likely to see some success.
Would you rather die chasing money? Explain your choice |
|---|
First of all, what does "chasing money" even mean? To me, it means making money the only thing that matters in our lives. This could mean working crazy hours, taking risks, and maybe even putting others in danger or worse put important things aside, like our health, our friends, and even just enjoying life, all just to get the money.
It is no secret that money is important, as it helps me get the things I need, like food, a place to live, clothes, and maybe things I like. But then, if I'm so focused on getting rich that I put aside my health, friends, or endanger myself and those around me, what is the point of having the money then? I mean, what if I work my whole life to get a ton of money, but I'm always stressed, lonely, and never take time to do the things I love?
I've realized that life is about more than just money. Indeed, it's about having good relationships, experiencing new things, learning, growing, and being happy, i.e., finding joy in the little things, a good book, or a laugh with a friend which I will miss out on if I'm always chasing money.
So, if I had to choose, I wouldn't die chasing money, I'd want to live a life where I could pursue my goals, but also take care of myself and enjoy the ride. Because, in the end, what good is all the money in the world if I'm not happy and healthy enough to enjoy it?

Thank you for participating in this contest. Seriously as much as people have different views about money, personally having money is an added advantage. Cheers
