Greetings! How are you today? I hope you are all fine as I am. I appreciate @afrinn for organising this very contest titled "Love For Parents" in the steem kids and Parents community. Here is my submission in line with the questions raised.

How do parents influence our lives?>
I want us to first look at the meaning of parents before considering how they influence our lives.
Parents can be seen as someone who gives birth to a child or plays the role of a guardian by nurturing and raising a child. Our learning and socialisation are most influenced by our parents since family is the primary social group. Parents influence us through their words and actions. They guide us, they scold us, they instruct us, and through all these, they shape our values, our behaviours, and our overall development, which includes the language of communication, the way we dress, how we relate with others, our academics, our physical and mental well being.

What are the responsibilities and duties of parents towards their children?

The responsibilities and duties of parents towards their children include:

1. Decision-making: Parents make the decisions for their children, especially when they are tender and are not mentally mature enough to make the decision themselves.
2. Provision: Parents provide the physical and basic needs of the children, which are food, clothing, shelter, etc.
3. The parent discipline and scold their children. They also guide them through the right path to help them become better people soon.
4. Love & Care: The parent has to provide love and care for their children, making them feel acceptable in the family they find themselves

How should we behave towards parents?
As children, we are supposed to:

1. Obey & Honour our parents: We are expected to obey and honour our parents so that they can also be happy with us and bless us in return
2. Accept all discipline and correction that comes from our parents.
3. Gratitude: We are supposed to be thankful and appreciative to them for every good thing they are doing to us.
4. We are expected to always open up to our parents and make consultations as we journey through life.

How has the role of parents changed in today's society?

In those days, the parent's role was to provide the basic needs, which are food, shelter, clothing, medical or health care and naturally help the children acquire the social norms of society. Still, today, the role of parents has changed significantly as a result of education, technology and an increased rate of evil. Parents struggle between their work and raising their children, between discipline and empathy. Parents embrace a more emotionally supportive approach to strengthen the parent-child bond.

Conclusion
The role and impact of parent on their children can not be overemphasised. Therefore, children are expected to respect and honour their parents. I appreciate you all for visiting my blog and for your support.
